EVERYTHING I have also tried everything. She likes vinegar and apple bitter spray. Ive ducktaped card board. used deodorant used spray bottles given plenty of chew toys and things to chew and play. Not only is my table leg destroyed but I am afraid she is going to swallow a splinter and do damage to her insides.

Rename her Beaver! Then I'd restrict access to any rooms that she tries to eat, or keep her in an xpen. Maybe a vet check to check her mouth for any problems. Have you taught her the 'Leave it' command?

All the above including renaming her Beaver. Sorry I know it's been challenging she is just so cute it's hard to be mad at her.

She knows sit, lay down, shake, give me five, roll over, dance, she will stay from sit for about 5 seconds. But she will not cooperate on the leave it command. She dosent want to leave anything she has in her mouth

Oh no, this must be so difficult for you to deal with. I agree that you'll have to keep her away from anything like that she can chew if you can't watch her or put her in an x-pen or room where she doesn't have access to anything but her bones to chew.

I wonder if you put a bit of hot sauce on something she shouldn't chew if that would teach her? Our breeder said that this is a remedy for dogs that eat stool that works. They won't go back to it. Just a thought. Hopefully others will have some other suggestions for you.

hadnt thought about that. Im so afraid things are going to have like onion powder or stuff that harm yorkies in it. She is hard to get mad at looking at those big eyes

Don't Get Mad
Yes I know, I can't stay mad either but that is good. Mad does not retrain. I Like the cue 'Leave It' we use it a lot on walks. I suggest teaching your Yorkie to trade. If she has something you don't want her to have, let her see and smell, her most favorite treat (remember it should be tiny one or two bite size). Give the cue "Leave It" and tempt her with the treat. You can also trade her a favorite squeak toy, or Kong to chew on. As for chewing on furniture, this is simple, just don't give her so much freedom. If she chews correct with a firm "NO" give her something else with the cue, 'Good Toy". If that doesn't work you can resort to using a spray bottle of water set on stream. A quick blast to her face, with the cue word "NO" will often work. Remember getting mad or punishment is not good, retrain and redirect is what you want to do. Hope this helps.

Did you mention what sort of stuff you leave about for her to chew on legally? Maggie has NEVER chewed my furniture. She has a pile of different dog chews and toys to chew on. She has bully sticks, antler, stuffed toys, and an assortment of stuff from the bins that Petco has where you buy it by the pound. Right now her favorite is bully sticks. I got them from bestbullysticks.com. They are supposed to be odor free but are actually just very low odor. Make sure you look for odor free as they have both. I got a regular one at one of the pet stores and the smell made me want to throw up!

I'd get in a supply of stuff, scatter it about and when she chews the wrong thing tell her NO and get her to chew a legal item and praise her.

Our Dexter when left alone too long will eat wallpaper, door frames and pick wood pieces from the floor.

My wife mixed Tabasco sauce with something else and painted the spot on the floor. So far he has left that. But will pull up an 8ft carpet when he feels like....

Holly chewed through a ton of my bracelets, shoes, belts, bed posts... I bought her these from PetCo when she was a baby and she would just go to TOWN on them. Click!

Click! Even to this day, she will sit down and munch on these for HOURS. Also, I suggest a bully stick. Because my two dogs will stop whatever they're doing once I give it to them. It might stop her from chewing when she's bored, or at the very least, distract her.

I thought my dog was weird, because she loves the Apple Spray. At least I know it's not only her now!

Gracie was a destructive chewer until she got her bully sticks. I had given her all sorts of different toys but sticks are the only thing that broke her of the obsessive destructive chewing. She would steal things out of closets off tables out of purses. As Teresa said you have to continue with the training. It will click eventually. But you need to find something that she likes to chew better than your furniture.

I was also fearful that Gracie was going to chew something that would harm her. I thought for a while that the cats were conspiring to kill her because they would knock things off the bathroom vanity and other high places that Gracie would chew. Hope you get your break through soon.
