Don't Get Mad
Yes I know, I can't stay mad either but that is good. Mad does not retrain. I Like the cue 'Leave It' we use it a lot on walks. I suggest teaching your Yorkie to trade. If she has something you don't want her to have, let her see and smell, her most favorite treat (remember it should be tiny one or two bite size). Give the cue "Leave It" and tempt her with the treat. You can also trade her a favorite squeak toy, or Kong to chew on. As for chewing on furniture, this is simple, just don't give her so much freedom. If she chews correct with a firm "NO" give her something else with the cue, 'Good Toy". If that doesn't work you can resort to using a spray bottle of water set on stream. A quick blast to her face, with the cue word "NO" will often work. Remember getting mad or punishment is not good, retrain and redirect is what you want to do. Hope this helps.
