I have had people tell me the bought their last Yorkie for $600.00, 16 years ago....why do they cost so much now...DUH???????

Most likely due to inflation as everything in general costs more now than it did 20 years ago. I was going to buy one for 250.00 back in 1990 in CT. I should have bought it!! The poor little thing would have passed away by now anyway.

Yeah, but Yorkie runts are valuable in this case. They seem to round up all the runts and breed them to create more runts / teacups.

In NYC it's the pug thats popular / trendy. They are cute in the "all dogs are beautiful and deserve love" sense; however, I personally wouldn't want to own one. I've always wanted a yorkie since 1990, I think they were more popular then. Don't care, still love them 22 years later .

Only bad breeders say they have teacups and only people who have not researched yorkies buy them. Not sure I would say valuable........

It drive me nuts when people ask if Roxy is a teacup. She isn't she was the runt of her litter. Thankfully she is healthy. When I had her to doggie parades and such she wears a little t-shirt that says "I'm not a T-cup just tiny" and Cozy has one that says "Do I look like a T-pot to you?". My friend's daughter made them with plain doggie t-shirts and glitter pens, sequences, and glue on bling- Very blinggy. I get funny looks but at least very few people as if she is a T-cup.

I'm always up for learning things. It's sickening to even imagine what those pups go through... or even what my Mya went through before I got her. I knew nothing about puppymills until finding YT. I knew from watching a program on tv that people mistreat dogs like the people that put the drugs in the puppies stomachs. But I do know now that more than that jaw-dropping, inhumane encounter is considered puppymill or the backyard breeders. Wow. so little knowledge in my lifetime on this regard yet so much I've learned in a matter of a couple of months of being on this forum. I appreciate when someone gives me information but I definitely wouldn't want to be treated as if I neglect or don't care about or for my baby. Niave or not, I love her. I could never do her harm. I care about her welfare. I've been doing a lot of posts reading on this community lately.... not even logged in sometimes but I still come to learn. Therefore, when I ask a question, I'm asking because I do care. But I'm sure you get what I'm saying, I hope.
