| Uh huh...but you need the enzymatic action to digest the proteins in the urine. I think that's right, anyway. Otherwise, it's a lot of work...a good exercise program, if you like exercises in futility. lol

| I read somewhere that if you have your carpets cleaned they shouldn't be steam cleaned as the steam bakes the urine into the carpet, but rather you should use a water extraction method. Can't remember where I read it, sorry, or if it's really true (sorry again) but thought I'd pass it along just in case it helps. We're going for the water extraction method - after I (shudder) use the black light. I got it awhile ago but have been afraid to use it! We use Nature's Miracle whenever we catch Gracie peeing, but I know for sure we don't always catch her. |

| I gave up on carpet....all tile in this house! When I did have carpet, I much preferred Eco 88 over any other product. You do have to be careful with it, though, because it does sometimes lift the color from some items. I used it on my carpets and it was amazing in removing stains!!! It is also awesome in removing odors. They have a money back guarantee. Eco-88- pet odor and pet stain remover. Guaranteed!

Well, the machine we had was called a "steam cleaner" but it used "water extraction" so not sure what we did, lol, but we used 2 products AFTER many machine cleanings and the stains on the white carpet vanished. The aerosol was almost instanteously...you could watch it disappear while you were still spraying. That was years ago, and I don't even remember the name of the product anymore. We also had some enzyme cleaner we would put into the reservoir of the 'steam cleaner' and let the machine do some of the work. lol

![]() Our white carpet 'cleaning guide' said to saturate, let soak, then blot with absorbent toweling weighted with a brick, etc. Did that with several products...nada. We struggled with it...spent plenty on useless products. The stuff that works has the enzymes that are needed for the digestion of the material, and that is what does the 'real' cleaning. After the urine is out, a water extraction to remove the product wouldn't hurt I don't imagine. I don't remember all we did to remove the kitty marks from that expensive, thick, plush white carpet, but I do remember the furniture being stacked up and pushed around the room, and the carpet machine being a near-permanent fixture. ![]() ![]()

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | My point was that with the Urine Off, the spots did not return. We haven't had a problem with odor either.

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The black light shows the protein in body fluid, including urine, if you spray with a cleaner and scrub, the protein may disappear for a while. You could even be pushing it deeper into the carpet fibers. The directions to Nature’s Miracle say to spray and let dry; repeat if necessary. You can't hasten the project along because the enzymes that clean are actually "good" bacteria that "eat" the protein and this takes time. Make sure you are using the proper Nature’s Miracle for the surface you are cleaning. As soon as I see a wet spot I place a towel on the spot and absorb as much urine as I can, then I spray and place another towel on the spot and absorb as much as I can by standing on it. Finally I spray and let air dry. My advice is to quit scubbing you are just moving the protein around, you aren't getting rid of it by scubbing.

That's what I was doing with the Nature's Miracle for the last several months. When I used the blacklight and saw all those spots, I looked at the back of the bottle and it said for stubborn stains use a brush with bristles. So I thought ![]() maybe I have stubborn stains!!
