Ugh! Grossed out!! Carpet cleaner suggestions needed!! So a couple weeks ago I got a blacklight from petsmart. I was SHOCKED at how many accidents I missed when I was cleaning. So, I went crazy using natures miracle advanced and sprayed heavily all of these spots, even scrubbing. I went to see if there were any new spots yesterday, and ALL of the spots that I sprayed were back, and I KNOW Brody hasn't peed THAT many times around. So I REALLY heavily sprayed one again to test if the cleaner is working... used the blacklight today, and sure enough it's back!! So obviously this natures miracle advanced isn't doing what I was hoping. Is there any way I can get rid of the spots? Any cleaner suggestions?!? I'm so grossed out!!!!!! |
This is why I don't have carpet in my house :p |
:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: .. and we're renting.... bye bye deposit :cry8::wavecry: |
Hmmmm. Good question. I don't have a black light but I am definitely getting one now. I just paid Stanley Steemer $150 to clean my carpets and I have mostly wood and tile (carpet in the bedrooms). I will let you know if Stanley got them out as soon as I get a blacklight...Do I wanna know????:confused::eek::confused: |
We paid for professional carpet cleaners to come in after we moved out of our apartment, and we still didn't get our deposit back :p We decided after that... no more carpet with pets! |

I'm still glad I bought the blacklight... but now I feel awkward walking in some spots in the apartment knowing that theres tons of pee saturated in the carpet :thumbdown:thumbdown |

See... I won't do this. I KNOW Gabby's snuck away from me more times than I realize. I don't think my heart could take the shock. Bear in mind, I'm a OCD neat freak. My plan is to rip the carpet out and replace it. Of course, it helps that I get a 50% discount on the cost of carpeting, so I can do that. |

I will let you know ASAP!!! |
Have you tried vinegar? We have also had good luck with Odor Gone ("As Seen on TV")...which comes with a black light. We had an aerosol product years ago that was fantastic...which is pro'ly why you can't find it now. lol |

I've heard that vinegar masks the smell, but doesn't help with the stain part. :confused: yup.... good things always come off the market!! ugh! |

They also sell it at PetSmart...which is where we usually get it. I haven't seen it a Target but maybe I was not on the right aisle...lol I am usually suspicious of "As Seen on TV" 'cuz it's often...what's the technical term...crap? lol But we figured 'what the heck' 'cuz nothing else was working, and doggone if it didn't vanish from the black light. Cat urine it was...and white carpet, but I'd guess it would work as well on dog urine. We have very little carpet and are ripping that out, too. Area rugs, so we can roll 'em up, take 'em out of the deck and pressure wash them. Takes almost no time, uses very little water, and they dry in an hour or two here. |

I used a product called Urine Off Dob & Puppy Formula. I had started using it early. Thought Roxy was doing real well with the training & cleaned up with the Urine Off, got the black light. OMG!!! Glowing spots everywhere. She had been doing a lot sneaking around that we had no clue. Used the Urine Off everywhere, and the spots were gone. If you haven't used the black light, remember that you need to use it in a dark room in order to see the spots. |
