| ![]() Hi, I haven't posted in a long while about my precious Rio and her children. I was "yorkiemom1970" when I first started this thread and have since rejoined yt as butterfly yorkie. My precious girl lives on! Her beautiful, petite girl "Rea" has shown in puppy matches with the NCA with myself and my daughter. She did super! Rio's other daughter, my darling Bridgit showed in Va Beach in May and took four wins. She is ever so close to her UKC championship. We hope to finish her by October. "River", Rio's precious boy is living happily with my sister very near my home. I am overwhelmed with love and devotion to these three and miss my Rio so much to this day. I just felt compelled to update on my babies and and post a few pics of them now. (these pics are about a month old) Mommy loves you my darling Rio and I will take good care of your children and grand children until I see you again someday. Love, your mommy Robbie. |

| ![]() Just in case some of you may be a little lost here...My precious Rio passed away in December 2005 after complications from anethesia to remove a retained puppy. She was my life and my heart. She still makes herself "known" here in my office now and then. Her portrait done by Michelle "Waistfull" on Yt hangs over my desk and is a beautiful reminder of her to me everyday. This girl was truly special to me and she left me a wonderful legacy. I owe her so much, yet I am filled with guilt to this day. I really don't think the pain of losing her will ever go away, but her babies have filled a void in my heart that I never thought would mend. I keep moving forward with this wonderful breed in her honor and memory. Last edited by ButterflyYorkie; 08-02-2006 at 07:27 PM. |

| ![]() Robbie, I will never forget the first time I read your post about Rio's passing. I cried and held my two even closer. I felt your pain. I didn't know how you were going to make it. This thread in honor of Rio seemed to help you and all of us too. I will never forget being asked to do a drawing of Rio. It was hard looking at her beauty and trying to capture "her". I will never forget "Our precious Rio". |

| ![]() I've only been on YT for about three months now, so this is the first time I'm seeing this thread. I have to tell you I have been in tears the whole way through it. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your babies are beautiful.

| ![]() Oh my gosh, Michelle and you guys are making me tear up. Thanks so much for your kind words. I need them today...My daughter fell at her birthday skating party on Sunday and it ended up being very bad. We took her to the ER, only to be sent to Brenner children's hospital. She snapped the bone in her right arm in half, then the weight of her fall caused the two pieces to smash together, making it a very complicated injury. She was admitted and had surgery yesterday morning where pins were put in her arm. She is doing best as can be expected. When we finally got to bring her home last night, Rea (Rio's daughter) was ready to curl up with her. This has been a tough past 12 months for us for sure. My daughter Ashley will not have full use of her arm for a good 6 months, one doctor mentioned a year possibly. This is devastating to her and to me. On Sunday night right after she was administerd some medication to keep her comfortable until her surgery the next morning, her only statement to me was "atleast it was my right arm Mom, I can still hold a lead with my left". She is a determined little girl to say the least. I've got alot on my table now...she can't do much of anything for herself at the moment...not even go to the bathroom. I told her if we could get through what we did in December after we lost Rio, this would be no different. My daughter and I are a team, and she is my little sidekick. I am still grieving Rio to this day...probably always will. But if I can help one person with her story, then I can feel good about that. Always have your girl x-rayed if she's expecting babies. Always. We had certain one's done in the past, but not all of them. If we felt we had a big litter coming, we'd x-ray then, ect , ect. But not anymore. It isn't even a question anymore. Have the x-ray or ultra sound. Thanks, |

| ![]() Well it is with tears in my eyes yet again, but I just had to torment myself and speak of her tonight on another part of the forum, so she is in my head big time tonight and I thought I'd pay a little tribute to her by posting her beautiful kids. A quick update: Ruby (first known as "Skye") is living with my dear friend Debra. Ruby turned out to be a petite little thing. She's spayed and living the good life. River went to live with my sister who is a nurse. Her schedule was so hectic that he wasn't getting enough "one on one". So he is now living with my close friend Lynn, and will soon be coming home to us to train and "hopefully" show in ukc. Rea, well where do I start, lol! She's been with me since day one. She and I trained together over the last 6 months...we sleep together every night and we don't venture far at all from one another. I think we both go into with-drawls if we're apart for too long. She finished her ukc championship recently and I couldn't be more proud of my baby girl. Her mother is surely shining down on her with a smile on her face. Thank you Rio...I'll never forget you my darling. Some of you may have seen this already, but here's the latest to the Legacy: (1st three are Rea, third is Bridgit. Both daughters to Rio.) |

| ![]() I will always remember the touch of Rio's beautiful coat. It definitely shows in her children... Bridgit is two wins away from her championship. Her sister actually knocked her out of the ball game at our last show...lol, but they aren't mad at each other I assure you! ![]() ![]() She's waiting to "pounce" her in this pic! LOL Last edited by ButterflyYorkie; 11-13-2006 at 11:29 PM. |

I've grown alot since and my skin is a little thicker now, but it will always haunt me I know. As "Mater" said: I'm as happy as a "tornado in a trailer park" with this new generation. We will be incorperating a new, awesome male to pair with these girls. I'm very excited about that day....wayyyyy off! I'm no where NEAR ready to breed these girls any time soon, but we have a clear picture of where we want to go. | |
