Oh my gosh, Michelle and you guys are making me tear up. Thanks so much for your kind words. I need them today...My daughter fell at her birthday skating party on Sunday and it ended up being very bad. We took her to the ER, only to be sent to Brenner children's hospital. She snapped the bone in her right arm in half, then the weight of her fall caused the two pieces to smash together, making it a very complicated injury. She was admitted and had surgery yesterday morning where pins were put in her arm. She is doing best as can be expected.

When we finally got to bring her home last night, Rea (Rio's daughter) was ready to curl up with her. This has been a tough past 12 months for us for sure. My daughter Ashley will not have full use of her arm for a good 6 months, one doctor mentioned a year possibly. This is devastating to her and to me. On Sunday night right after she was administerd some medication to keep her comfortable until her surgery the next morning, her only statement to me was "atleast it was my right arm Mom, I can still hold a lead with my left". She is a determined little girl to say the least. I've got alot on my table now...she can't do much of anything for herself at the moment...not even go to the bathroom. I told her if we could get through what we did in December after we lost Rio, this would be no different. My daughter and I are a team, and she is my little sidekick.

I am still grieving Rio to this day...probably always will. But if I can help one person with her story, then I can feel good about that. Always have your girl x-rayed if she's expecting babies. Always. We had certain one's done in the past, but not all of them. If we felt we had a big litter coming, we'd x-ray then, ect , ect. But not anymore. It isn't even a question anymore. Have the x-ray or ultra sound. Thanks,
