Pet Insurance? Any thoughts?? Any suggestions????

I guess it depends on how much the premium is. It seems to cover most of the more expensive things. I don't know of any pet insurance that does not require you to pay the bill up front. They reimburse you later. That isn't going to help someone that does not have the cash on hand. Some people use a credit card so they can pay the card off when they get reimbursed.

31.14 a month. Yearly deductible of 100 bucks.

I think I am going to get it. It is what I am looking for (minus dental)... I do not mind paying it just in case something happens... And I covers ear infections and stuff.

It has pretty horrible reviews. Biggest complaint seems to be that they pay what they believe to be fair charges, not necessarily what your vet charges for a procedure.

One thing I have learned while researching this is to have the companies you are interested in actually send you a copy of the complete policy. I found this very interesting and noted the companies who did not want to send the policy until I signed up and those that hesitate to send me a copy. Then I made a list of questions and the company that did the best job of communicating the answer and feedback to me is probably the one I am going to go with.

After reading all of the policies, and writing in all the margins, I got a pretty good education. I'm more interested in getting the high end stuff covered- cancer and such.

One question I asked each company was how much they have increased their prices each year for the last 10 years. That got an interesting response -- again the one with the best communication and feedback will probably be where I go.

Oh yes also got a statement from them that the intestinal virus she got last year is not a pre- existing condition. Other wise that would be like your health insurance saying you can only get a cold or gastroenteritis once in your life and it is then pre- existing.
