One thing I have learned while researching this is to have the companies you are interested in actually send you a copy of the complete policy. I found this very interesting and noted the companies who did not want to send the policy until I signed up and those that hesitate to send me a copy. Then I made a list of questions and the company that did the best job of communicating the answer and feedback to me is probably the one I am going to go with.
After reading all of the policies, and writing in all the margins, I got a pretty good education. I'm more interested in getting the high end stuff covered- cancer and such.
One question I asked each company was how much they have increased their prices each year for the last 10 years. That got an interesting response -- again the one with the best communication and feedback will probably be where I go.

Oh yes also got a statement from them that the intestinal virus she got last year is not a pre- existing condition. Other wise that would be like your health insurance saying you can only get a cold or gastroenteritis once in your life and it is then pre- existing.
