| roadside vaccs & chipping..?! Howdy! Luma, bf and I are currently on the road to bfs hometown to introduce Luma to her grandmama! We were going through some small town and saw a sign for "low cost" vaccinations and microchipping. What the heck? They were doing it right there in the hot sun by the highway!! Crazy people...arent they worried about their dogs having an adverse reaction? Seems shady, but there was a huge line of people. It makes me so angry!! I hate when peolle cut corners at their dog's expense!

| Most people have no idea of the complications that can occur with vaccinations. I am concerned with your statement, "in the hot sun, by the side of the highway"....hoping they are not letting that vaccine lay around in the sun or in the heat....most people just do not know how dangerous this is....and you would be surprised how many people would think this is more acceptable than a knowledgable breeder giving their own vaccinations! |

| It may be being sponsored by the county or the city. When they require that people have their pets vaccinated or chipped they have to offer a low cost method for people to comply. Seems like they could have sprung for a better site to have it done. Cheap. |

| There was a tiny trailer where i assume the vacs were stored but there was no vet uniform worn and it was honest to god right on the highway.the dogs were laying in grass getting shots as cars zoom by and half werent even on a leash. Yeah youre saving money on the shots but good luck when you have to bring your dog tothe vet afterward from a bad reaction.

| This has disaster written all over it. How do they know who the providers really are and if their vaccine is anything but saline? Is the paperwork even legal? My goodness, when will people stop treating dogs like government projects and awarding the job to the cheapest bidder?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh wow, is that even legal? I wonder if they are offering rabies, I know only a licensed vet can give those. Can you report it to anyone?

Look at Petco, they have a clinic several times a month to offer low cost vaccines. There is a clinic in my area that offers $50 spay/neuter for bully breeds. They will even pick your bully breed up the day of surgery. There are grant programs that can be applied for that help defray the costs of these clinics so that more animals are properly vaccinated. I'm happy to hear that there were so many people at this event willing to take the time to receive low cost vaccines. I highly doubt this was someone who decided to make a quick buck on the side of the road and there is much more than meets the eye as you past by.

If it wasn't for low cost (& donation supported clinics), some pets may not get needed shots, get microchipped, or be spayed or neutered.
