. Oh yes it happens all the time. Abba is small and in full coat he doesn't have a bow in his top knot, has a blue shirt that says I am a BOY. People still say 'Oh she is so cute' I just smile and say Thank You. Sigh..........
I do worry about all the people who can not read.

haha! Not true. Kaji use to have a very short hair cut. He looked so cute!!!!! But, everyone always asked if he was a girl. It never failed. Maybe Kaji is just too "pretty" for his own good? Now he wears his hair long. If I'm going to get the questions anyway, I might as well let my Casanova's hair flow, and let him look like Fabio.

People always think Peanut is a girl- I will have a black or blue collar on- Yes they have rhinestones, but still!! It doesn't matter to me- I don't get upset or anything- People just don't know and they assume rather than asking~

A little history lesson. Until WWI pink was a boy's color, and blue was for girls. Red was for men so a lighter shade of red was thought to be the color for boys, and the Virgin Mary was associated with blue so that was the color for girls. WWI changed all that and the men’s uniforms were blue so blue became the color associated with boys. Are the people in your town really old???

No it's young people asking.. Plus I live in NY we have all ages her..lol thanks for the history lesson it was well needed..I did not know this before..

doesn't matter if they are wearing a tu-tu!!!!

I have BLUE flease jackets for my boys that they were in the bitter cold fall and winter weather... Rocky my Shih_Tzu has one with light blue bones on it and Nicky, my Yorkie has a dark blue one that has mini skull and cross bones on it and there is no mistake that it is a BOY jacket... several weekends ago we stopped at Walmart and I took my boys on a potty run, some lady said, about Nicky, OH she's so cute how old is she, and I made it a point to just about yell... HE is 3... The lady then said, oh she is just to cute... I wanted to slug her... I came close to saying NICKY IS A BOY, he is wearing DARK BLUE WITH SKULLS on it!! UGH it just bugged me!!

Dinky is mistaken for a "she" quite often. If the person is nice, I will bother to inform that he is he. If the person is annoying, I don't even bother. It's a small little private victory over rude people.

Not really surprised by people anymore, it seems that rude is the norm and it saddens me..Anyway, when my son was a baby, he was all dressed as a boy and people would stop and say she is the cutest little thing I have seen,,PEOPLE ??? So when this happens with dogs, I am not surprised at all.

Oh, I totally know where you are coming from!!!! You wouldn't believe the amount of people who say 'is that a girl?' or 'I sure hope that is a girl?' or 'that is not a boy dressed up like a girl, is it?'!!!! Drives me crazy! Of course it is a girl! I mean, pink leash, pink harness, bow, and usually pink clothes or a dress...of course she is a girl! Why do people have to be so clueless?! I just want to say well duh! Of course it is! I am patient though and just answer their question and move on. LOL

I get asked if Rory and Lane are boys or girls or better yet which one is the boy and which one is the girl when they are dressed identically.

I sarcastically answered someone at a meetup once as oh yeah definitely boys, because I saw him kind of eyeing their dresses, bows and pink leashes and thought he was kind of sarcastically commenting on that. I felt so bad later when I was talking to him and realized he thought I was serious.

He was kind of an "interesting" guy though.
