OMG... does pink equal boy??? Ok So the wheather here in NY has been at it's best before spring comes.. I took Brandy out for the last three days dresses in her pink dresses.. but people still ask is that a girl? In my head I'm like DUH what you think.. Brandy even wears a bow..it's really sad.. But it gets worse I think the more people ask my IQ drops.. It's like dose pink equal boy or girl.. I know I shouldn't be mad but what the heck.. dose this happen to anyone else.. please tell your story.. I mean for real people pink.. Blah Blah Blah  |
It's amazing how stupid, no, yeah, stupid people have become! Makes you wonder....not to know pink = a girl! |
My 80 pound male golden retriever is mistaken for a female. He wears a blue collar on a blue leash and has equipment attached. I am also saying "Come Buddy" If people can't tell a male golden from a female there is no hope for small dogs. I do know people with small male dogs that put bows into their hair. My dad calls most dogs boy and cats girl out of habit at first meeting. Growing up his dogs were always male and his cats were always female. |

Buddy's favorite toy is a pink heart with rope toy and a palm sized Santa toy though. Ue does say real men can wear pink and his Santa is an action figure- Not a doll. |
Pink = boy, lol. No. That is funny. My boys wear black harnesses, black leashes, and black scrunchies in their topknots and people still think Teddy is a girl -- even when they hear me call him Teddy. :p Sometimes I put other color scrunchies in the boys' topknots. When I put the reds in, many people tell me it is a girl's color. |
Callie always has her pink collar on, her pink buddybelt harness, and her pink leash and then normally the clothing she has on is pink and most of the time its a dress. I have had so many people refer to her as a boy or ask if she is a boy and I am kinda like uhhhh seriously but always say nope shes a girl and then laugh about it and joke about it with my mom or grandma whoever is with me for the rest of the day. |
I get that alot with my female Rottweiler and I always have pink on her!! A few days ago I had my Rottweiler and Delilah out for a walk. A guy asked me about them and commented pretty and well behaved they were then asked me if I was going to breed them...ummm they are both girls... |
Amazing how people are. People are the same way with skin babies also. |

Absolutely...used to get that all the time with my 2 boys...all dressed in blue, but beautiful hair and gorgeous eyes with long lush lashes...automatically says "girl' to lots of people...and they are grown up now, so this is not a "new" thing, unfortunately. I do have to admit I am guilty of putting fru fru in both Mia's and Brody's top knots, but I try to only put "girlie" colors on Brody when he's not going out of the yard or vehicle. :D |
When my daughter was a baby I had a pink stroller, she was in a pink outfit and a pink bow in her hair and a pink blanket and still people would say, "oh isn't HE cute" Ok, I took the compliment, but always walked away thinking WTF !! |
I know how sucky it could be because you have yo repeat yourself to some people twice.. I think some people are color blind..lol one time Brandy had on all pink dress harness and bow.. someone in the hall was like is that a boy.. I got mad and smiled yes it's a boy.. so the person was like why do you dress a boy in girls clothing.. I was like Mr. are you for real it's a girl her name is Brandy.. why ask if it was a boy if you know pink and dresses mean girl.. man oh man nervse of people..lol |

I think when people do that they are just making small talk and not really paying any attention to the clothes or collar or whatever that the dog has on which would tell them if it is a boy or a girl. |
I think some Yorkies just look a bit more boyish than others especially if the hair around their faces is short. Maybe it's the hair cut. Or maybe the people are just color blind! I just have to wonder what their next comment would be if you said, "Yes, he's a boy!" and their brains kicked in and noticed how you have her dressed. I'm sure they would want to know why you were dressing him as a girl. How stupid some folks are! It might be worth a good laugh to try it and see what happens. |
