| Did you ask for the Lyme vaccine? That is an optional vaccine that is only for pets that may be exposed to lyme carrying ticks. Although I live in a high tick area Gracie does not go into the areas that are tick infested so I chose not to have her get it. As has already been stated the prices are very high. If this vet is accustomed to serving a high income group of clients that are used to paying big bucks for everything some may not have noticed. With what he is charging you he should have at least educated you about what he was doing. I agree. Call around. I live in central NY and paid $220.00 to have Gracie spayed and micro chipped. Her blood tests came to $60.00. It is a very nice clinic though certainly not in a highly exclusive area. |

| When getting my dog, I live in a much better neighborhood. I think my neighbors wouldn't flinch at the sight of your vet fees. However, I did not pay $700 for a neuter. I paid less than $350. My last checkup was $180 including blood work, urinalysis, and I forget what else. Most importantly, my current vet wouldn't over vaccinate my pup for the money. That part is alarming. I'm glad you're searching for a new vet.

| The pricing is comparable to prices I pay in Providence and Boston. Being a native NY'er, I always find things to be slightly higher there than here. A vet visit costs me $58 for a new problem, $34 for a continuing here in RI. As for the vaccines, I look for a veterinarian who is AAHA certified and follows AAHA protocols for vaccines and for standards of care.

| I only pay 40 dollars per visit and the shots are no where near as expensive as yours.

$10? Would that be for an injectable anesthetic? I can't fathom $10 for sevoflourane or isoflurane gas...

| Dogs can be placed under anesthesia with injectables or gas. As I said, can't fathom the dog was put under with gas at that price. You have me curious. Maybe you can call and find out??

| YT 2000 Club Member | I am actually taking her back in tomorrow to HOPEFULLY have her stitches removed and hear the dog say she is A ok. I'll ask him when I go in. Is that a high price or something? Cause to me, I can't complain about it, specially when I see the prices others are paying.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I just went back and looked through Maggys records as well, her anesthesia was only $10 as well. I looked at Gracies, she's my boxer girl, hers was $30, it must have to do with the size of them as well. And oppps, I meant to say DOC in the above post, not dog, lol.
