Did you ask for the Lyme vaccine? That is an optional vaccine that is only for pets that may be exposed to lyme carrying ticks. Although I live in a high tick area Gracie does not go into the areas that are tick infested so I chose not to have her get it.
As has already been stated the prices are very high. If this vet is accustomed to serving a high income group of clients that are used to paying big bucks for everything some may not have noticed. With what he is charging you he should have at least educated you about what he was doing. I agree. Call around. I live in central NY and paid $220.00 to have Gracie spayed and micro chipped. Her blood tests came to $60.00. It is a very nice clinic though certainly not in a highly exclusive area. |
