How fun! I'll have to keep an eye on this thread and read all about your babies!

Hmmm....Katie Scarlett....

Well, she is a total diva. Super girly! She loves to get dressed up and strut her stuff. She is a total attention hog. She thinks everything has to be all about her all the time...and it pretty much is. She thinks everyone has to say hi to her everywhere we go. She expects to be treated like the pampered princess she is! She is also very playful and easy going. She is just the perfect pup for us. She gets rowdy every now and then, but it keeps us laughing. She is my dream dog! I love her so much!

They're not prissy dogs... they're working dogs and are happiest when they have a job. Pound for pound, not another dog can match them for intensity and purpose.
Oh, thank you for your sweet words. That picture is one I often see as Tibbe barks his desires and thoughts to one and all when the spirit so moves him, so during one of his longer sermons, I picked up the camera and snapped away.

I think he really believes he is "talking" during these sessions and will finish them by fastening me with the most serious, steady, soul-boring gaze one has ever seen, waiting soberly for my response. Thankfully, I mostly can figure his "Yorkie talk" out pretty well in the context of the moment and usually accede to his wants. When that happens, he seems utterly pleased with himself that he has communicated so effectively! So, it seemed the perfect shot for my YorkieTalk.com avatar.

Fun thread! How wonderful to read all the different personalities!

Lucy is 8 months old, very affectionate and full of energy, she loves to play with her toys and to have us play with her. She bounces everywhere and runs like crazy, she's all over the place. She likes to cuddle in the evenings, she pretty much believes my lap is hers. LOL! But, when it comes to her dad, she's totally his fan #1. My husband adores her and she follows him everywhere he goes and mommy doesn't exist anymore...hehe.

I love to dress her but she really doesn't like the bows or head pieces too much, she actually takes them off with her two tiny paws. Sometimes I wonder if she knows she's a doggy.

How do they do it? Yes...it looks like Tibbe is talking... coaxing you to do something for him... with him. If we listen very carefully, we can pick up the language of our pets. My family often says, "how did you know what he/she wants?" as I let them in and out of the basement, offer food, pet them, scratch them... but it's not that hard to discern if you are quiet and really listen. I can tell that Tibbe has your ear, and he is joyously putting in his request in his photo. All we want -- pets and humans -- is to be heard and understood.

Moka is a pleaser. She just hates it if she thinks you are upset with her. She comes across as timid and submissive, and will literally fall over stiff legged for you to scratch her tummy, but don't let her fool you, she's all about guarding her family at the same time.

Mylee is a nervous, insecure little sweetheart. She has a panic attack over just the thought that she will be left behind and spends a good part of her day trying to determine if we're getting dressed to go somewhere or just getting dressed for the day and when to sit by the door in hopes to get to go along. But when she is certain we're all home for the evening she can be the best snuggle buddy anyone could ask for. A smart little girl who tries so hard.

So true. Communication between canine and human is pretty easy if the human partner has even just the slightest ability of observation and analysis of the canine's behavior. Canine's are loaded with these qualities so they read us expertly. Tibbe and I "talk" to each other as effectively as any human pair ever could in many instances and it sounds like each of you have that same fun relationship with your babies.

Furgie is so sweet and gets along with all dogs! She loves to catch a quick sniff of the new pup she just met or is greeting. She is super submissive and always rolls on her back to let other pups sniff her....sometimes so often I am like..FURGIE!!!! She is just so sweet, attached to my hip, very mellow, not a barker...
Love that little girl so much!

Mina is like having my youngest daughter at age 5 all over again. Mina is 14months old. She loves to play, have her hair cut,put her ponytail up and oh ya go bye bye. She sits in her carseat and talks to EVERYONE at every stop light (look Mom look!,Hi Hi can you see me!,Mom did you see that?!) all in yorkie of course and in her best outside voice. She likes going to the store and likes for people to talk to her,but would prefer they not pet her,you dont pet little girls, that is for dogs. Her favorite chew toy is the poodles back legs (Im blessed that he is so tollerant). If one of the other dogs has a toy and she wants it,she just lays down and tells them to give it over and they do. If they have something that was hers, she will bark and then come get me. Ya,just a bit bratty. Her favorite place to sleep is between our pillows at night or in my arms. Telling her to not bark does not work, she will look you straight in the eyes and do it just one more time, cause she can. If she does something else that she isnt supposed to do,like going upstairs, and you fuss at her. She will sit on the couch, pout and grumble.
She is still a joy to all of us and growing into a wonderful young lady.

These are fun to read. Well my Joel is 4 months old and I'm his totaly favorite person, if I leave the room he will sit with the saddest face ever and not do anything until I come back, his most favorite thing is when I hold him like a baby on his back, he will lay like that forever. He likes watching dog videos on my phone and he puts his paw on the phone. He's also such a good boy (even though he's a puppy lol) when I want to sleep in on the weekend he sits quitely in his crate waiting for me even when he's wide awake. He's just the sweetest lil boy ever. And than ofcourse theres the times he drives me crazy, but atleast he's cute!

so interesting to read all thier different personalitlies...

meesha is very very very nosey, always curious of whats going on around her, very aware, listening all the time to what people are saying, what thier doing, where they are..knows what she likes, if she dosen't like something she will bark and let you know immediatley. Only cuddles in the morning when she wakes up crawls under the covers and wants a belly rub, other than that she dosen't want to be touched.Hates laps, only wants to be held up by your chest or crawl onto your shoulder ...al, hyper and fast as a speeding bullet, then some days will be mellow.is a big piggy, vet told me to free feed her because she is a puppy, now thier telling me to stop and feed her diet vet food lol..she loves eating..her kibble and carrotts..loves new toys...turns into the most happy dog in the world when she gets new toys.. hates topknots and clothes other than sweaters..will tolerate it for photos then thats it...so is always naked usually.lol. hates new humans acts as if thier aliens coming to get her..but were working on that and has absolutley no intrest in other dogs, when meeting them she acts as if thier not there just wants to do her own thing.LOVES the hairdryer..expects to be hairdryed after being outside, runs to the bathroom to it and lays next to it..when anyone is using the hairdryer she runs to it and expects to be blowdryed, even though we keep our home extremly warm in the winter. Bit of a saucy brat but so cute loving and quirky..love her with all my heart!!..hoping one day she'll have a little yorkie and sheltie brother to play with..in a few years.. hehe

This reminds me when I was potty training Joel, he would do something and I would say "oh, he needs to go potty" and my family would be like "what do you mean? How do you know"
And poor thing, when my sister puppy sits him, he'll have an accident because she doesnt know his language, and she said he looks at his accident sadly, like he was realy trying to tell her, and I just love that he knows I "get him."

Isn't that the truth? I would definately describe my Snickers as intense! He is bold, confident, determined. Very intelligent and mischievous. He looks like a prissy dog, I will admit, but he is the furthest thing from it.

Very playful and energetic and friendly. Fun loving. He's not a real cuddly dog like a lot of others I know, but he will snuggle with you if HE thinks it's convenient.

Belle is a little sweetheart. She adores her family and her two big "brothers", Ziggy and Oliver. She thinks it's her job to keep track of what the cats are up to. She LOVES to play with toys, and always brings her favorite green loofa dog to bed. She's very smart and enjoys training. She follows the lead of her brothers and if they like someone who comes to the house, then so does she. But, if we are out in public, she doesn't like other dogs to come to close or she will growl/bark at them (we're working on changing that) She also doesn't like strangers coming up to her, but that's ok, neither do I.
She's very vocal, and always wants to let me know what's on her mind. She is my constant shadow and cuddle buddy.

I love this thread!! Everyone's furbaby sounds so amazing. I love how, if your in touch with your lil one, you will definitely understand who they are and their personality.

When we first got Darla she just seemed to be a very scared and timid girl. But after about a week that all changed. She is my bff. Where ever I go she goes. She is not a barker by no means, and all she ever wants to be happy in her little life is for Mommy to scratch her belly and to comb her hair. She is very loving to my skin babies. Whenever they are sick she is right there sleeping at their feet. She'll get up every so often go up to their head to check on them, and give them a lil loving kiss. But when they are feeling well she will go to them to get some super loving, and for some play (she loves dancing with my middle son). But for the most part she follows me around the house and when I'm busy she will lay at the doorway until I move on to a different room. If you were to meet her at home, you would think she was the calmest and laziest dog in the world. But if you were to meet her on one of our outings you will come to realize she LOVES being outside running around and playing in the grass. She also LOVES her car rides. If she sees me getting ready to go outside (putting on my sweater) she'll go run to the sun room door so that I can put on her coat so that she can go with Mommy. I feel like there is so much more I can write about her. She is so full of personality and I absolutely adore her with all my heart.
