I think he really believes he is "talking" during these sessions and will finish them by fastening me with the most serious, steady, soul-boring gaze one has ever seen, waiting soberly for my response. Thankfully, I mostly can figure his "Yorkie talk" out pretty well in the context of the moment and usually accede to his wants. When that happens, he seems utterly pleased with himself that he has communicated so effectively! So, it seemed the perfect shot for my YorkieTalk.com avatar. |
How do they do it? Yes...it looks like Tibbe is talking... coaxing you to do something for him... with him. If we listen very carefully, we can pick up the language of our pets. My family often says, "how did you know what he/she wants?" as I let them in and out of the basement, offer food, pet them, scratch them... but it's not that hard to discern if you are quiet and really listen. I can tell that Tibbe has your ear, and he is joyously putting in his request in his photo. All we want -- pets and humans -- is to be heard and understood.
