| I dislike worrying about health and safety, and the relatively short life spans. But this is the trade off for the love and joy they bring to my life.

| Loving them for years and having to say goodbye when their life is over has to be for me the hardest. I have to hold TIna when she tee tee's so she won't fall down in it. Pooping, same thing. All the things you have to do when they are sick or old and sick,,,,and I would do it all over again. When I think of all the cute and funny things they do and they love you so much, its worth it all. |

| [QUOTE=kjc;3832370]All of the above and... the lack of responsible dog ownership I see by those who own large dogs.QUOTE] Amen to that! I get tired of people leaving their big dogs off leash at a public park where they are suppose to be on a leash at all times. If they don't want to do that, then go to the dog park. That's definitely a dislike.

| wet socks and squishy stuff in my toes! Mine are fully trained to litter boxes with washable pads but as pups, and sometimes still have accidents...but theres nothing worse than putting on socks and stepping in a warm puddle or squishy between the toes first thing in the morning...hate that!

| i love this thread!!!! I will admit there are times when im like ahhhhhh!! I wish i had no dogs right now so i can have some peace and quiet. But sometimes before we have left for vacation i take them to the vet where i work to board, and i will take them there a couple hrs early so i dont have to worry about the gate being left open while i pack, and its SOOOOOOOOOOOO BORING without them! But i would say its the worry! That i hate the most, two have skin problems, and i am constantly worrying and thinking of other things to try. Worry about what they eat, play with, etc. I actually think working at a veterinary clinic makes it worse, cause i see so many bad things, so im extra paranoid. And then its the always having to worry about how long we will be gone, so that they rnt home too long alone. But i will never live without dogs! I love them all soo much!!! There used to be a time when i thought people with 3 dogs were crazy! Now we have 4, it happens when you foster and rescue, lol. But i couldnt ever give up a single one!!! (not 4 yorkies) but 1 yorkie, 2 mixed small dogs, and a black lab Last edited by Farleys; 02-22-2012 at 12:59 PM. |

| I hate the worry, too. I'm a natural worrier. I always think of all the what- if situations. And Ruby has given me some real scares. She once fell off the recliner and knocked herself out. That was a terrible night. Then I fretted over lp surgery last summer, and this summer I'll have to do the other knee. Always worrying. Sometimes I think I worry more over the fur kids than the skin kids. The skin kids can communicate with me and tell me what they're feeling, the fur kids not so much. |

| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I'd be miserable without Yorkies in my life, so the positives far outweigh the negatives. But, if I'm being honest, these come to mind: * Vet bills and other expenses. * I hate leaving them, especially on vacations when I have to put my trust in a sitter. * I sometimes resent that I always have to put them first when it comes to making any plans. * Worrying about them being hurt.

| the hardest part imo! I'll be going through it again in about two weeks! Right now I'm also worried about feeding them since I free feed Riot because he had a few hypoglycemia issues as a baby but I'm sure it won't be a problem if he eats some of the puppy food or Chaos eats some of the adult.

| Yorkie Yakker | I like reading what everyone has to say here! I don't even have my puppy yet (1 month!) but I have 2 things I already know I'll dislike about owning my Yorkie. The first is the vet bills (I hate all bills) but its a necessary evil to keeping our children healthy. The second thing I'll dislike is the leaving my new baby to go to work! I am trying to figure out how to smuggle my baby in with me and not get into trouble... |
