The leather is a lot softer and pliable. Also much less hardware. The leg holes are cut in a way to conform to the body and not cause pressure points.

Mine is actually pretty darn soft and the hardware is so easy to use I can't stand velcro and its so easy to use when deciding to put it over clothes or not. Also the leg holes are round the shape of an actual dogs legs. Its more adjustable then the choke free which is very nice. I don't really think you can say either one is more comfortable really unless one has caused maybe a rash and the other hasn't.

The thing is - it's meant to fit round the shoulder blades - which aren't actually round.

It was invented and designed by NASA for that reason. I guess this debate will always rage on...!!!

Yup. This is why we have choices.

I personally choose an engineer from NASA who was problem solving for his own dog but a LOT of people love the BB. I'm sure there is room on YT for both harness choices and our opinions

There is no break in period either so no need for those liners that BB sells to stop chafing

It just wouldn't work for us because of so many reasons one being Callie wears clothes almost all of the time except summer and I have to have a harness that is extremely adjustable.

We put her harness underneath her clothes because I hate to spoil the look of a beautiful outfit with a harness (that will NEVER match every single outfit anyway, even though we own 3 colors) So no need to extreme adjusting.

A lot of Callie's clothes don't have the harness hole on them and I have two different pink BB and mostly of the time I dress Callie in pink (Im a bit obsessed with pink its our favorite color lol) so they seem to match pretty good.

Well the main reason i chose the choke free
at this time is the cost.
Later i plan on buying the buddy belt.
I guess then i will see if oscar is more comfortable with a specific one.
Then go with that one.

I have Buddy Belts for Jada and Bogie, but I like the look of the choke free too. I am of the mindset that you can never have too many of anything I would love to try the choke free for Jada to wear under her nicer dresses when we go out.

I use a Buddy Belt also but might try the Choke Free. I like having a spare harness (well actually a few).

I will say with the Buddy Belt I had to "introduce" it to Sophie Kate she was not a fan at first.

Question, did someone say the Choke Free attaches with Velcro? I looked at the picture that was posted it thats what it looks like to me.

Yes. It's a very failsafe design. The thick velcro attaches at the back and the D-ring goes through the middle. When a leash is attached there is no possible way for the velcro to come loose and the pup to escape from the harness. It's great for wiggly, impatient pups or even older or less steady hands as well

I have both. I do think the Choke Free seems more comfortable. It's more "flimsy" sort of... the leather is definitely not as thick and there is no big buckle on the back. However I use the Buddy Belt more but I am keeping both because I find sometimes one is better than the other in different circumstances. Only reason I don't like Choke Free as much is because it's not really adjustable. You HAVE to get your dogs correct size as there is no way for it to adjust (it's why they sell it by sizes 10, 11, 12, etc - if your pup has a 12" girth, you get a size 13" and it won't adjust bigger or smaller).

Yeah thats what my biggest problem was because Callie pretty much always wears her harness over her clothes.
