Mine is actually pretty darn soft and the hardware is so easy to use I can't stand velcro and its so easy to use when deciding to put it over clothes or not. Also the leg holes are round the shape of an actual dogs legs. Its more adjustable then the choke free which is very nice. I don't really think you can say either one is more comfortable really unless one has caused maybe a rash and the other hasn't.
