| question for all.... Ok, I have been wanting to ask some questions but was scared to b/c of certain reasons, but here it goes. What does it mean when you look on a breeders website and they dont have pics of the parents...but they have tons of Yorkies???? Like over 20? I just want some opinions on this.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | hmmmmm....why wouldn't a breeder show pictures of the parents unless the parents were of poor quality and were ashamed of their appearance? This is a big red flag for me! IMO

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree with everyone and it IS A Red Flag - course - anyone can show you ANY yorkie and say it's the parents - but no picture at all and 20 puppies to me spells N-O-T G-O-O-D. |

| For sure, parents look TOO bad to show them. Puppy mill. NEVER EVER BUY a puppy if a breeder doesn't show parents to you Also, be careful - they lie!!! I didn't see the parents. I knew, it was VERY bad sign, but she told me that father is in someone house on stud righ now. The mother lives a few blocks away. and this puppy she took as a payment for stud. Later, I found out she is big puppy mill Last edited by omichka; 12-02-2005 at 07:23 AM. |

| sites I will reveal a secret. If you belong to a Yorkie club it is acceptable to have a web site to show off you lines, champions, picutres of your adults...BUT never ads, pictures and prices of puppies. You are invited to inquire about pups...but that is only with club people. I know I am old fashioned, but I don't like seeing a long list of pictures and prices. It feels like shopping at a doggie super market..but that is just me...and another thing I hate..a breeder who breeds a pile of pups to cash in on the CHristmas buying spree. Holidays are so busy and stressful, the worst time to buy a pup. How much attention is my baby going to get from the new owner at that time?...I always let people come and take a photo..I had a gift box made of puppy stuff for them...then they came back the first week of January to get baby. |

I think it was better that way. First the anticipation was exciting, and I also had a chance to wrap my mind around the idea and shop for things I thought I would need.

| I would be cautious of anyone who had 20 puppies at once. We only have 4 right now and they are sooooo much to try to handle. I can only imagine 20 at once. I don't see how they would have time to give each the attention it needed and to properly care for them. But that's just MY opinion... |
