| Pee pad in the utility room Is the utility room a bad place for potty pads? That where i put Milo's and he started out using it really good and he still uses it but i have noticed that he will go poop somewhere else if someone is in there or if the washer is on. He also has pee'd and pooped on the rugs in the kids bathrooms this week. What is going on? Do i need to move his pads. He is 6 months old. |

With my last yorkie, Chelsea, in my last house, her potty area was in the laundry room which was on the main floor of the house. No matter where she was in the house, mainfloor, upstairs, or basement, she would run to the laundry room when she had to go potty. I really liked that is was removed from the living areas and not visible to company. Do you have room in there to put down a couple of pads so he doesn't have to poop where he pees, and see if that makes a difference? At my new wee house, ZoE's potty area is in the hallway outside the bathroom. It works for us, but everyone that comes over & uses the bathroom sees ZoE's potty area, so I had to invest in fabric covered washable pads that coordinate with my interior colours.

| Gracie would not consider peeing where she poos. As soon as she goes poo she is out of there. I had to finally put another pee pad frame down so she could do both at the same time. Sounds like he is afraid of the washer and or dryer. Maybe try adding a pee station for when the utility room is busy? Some dogs don't want to use a pee pad more than once or twice. I wouldn't want to walk on that either. |

| MIley has a least 3 pads and use all 3. she will go to the one she is closes too. I had to put up the bathroom rugs after a bath , cause she will use it too.

YT 1000 Club Member | I use Newspaper instead of a Pad, it's a lot cheaper, and from what I see, they don't care. I too have the Paper laid out in front of the Doggy Door from the Utility Room to outside. The Door is open most of the time, and when it's not, they have at least tried to exit to Potty. I don't think that having multiple places for this would be is a good idea for me, and, the times that mine have used a Throw Rug, I just picked it up (washed it) and didn't put it back down for a couple days. Now, mine don't go anywhere they aren't supposed to. (Have a 3yo and a 1yo)

I believe in only having ONE potty area in the house too. ZoE knows WHERE to go. I have hardwood floors throughout my house (other than the bathroom & laundry closet) and so have lots of rugs. ZoE has never peed on a rug. It was the same with my last yorkie too!
