Thanks! I was thinking it was the room where the furnace & water heater is and was thinking with all the blowing and gas igniting that it might not be the best place

With my last yorkie, Chelsea, in my last house, her potty area was in the laundry room which was on the main floor of the house. No matter where she was in the house, mainfloor, upstairs, or basement, she would run to the laundry room when she had to go potty. I really liked that is was removed from the living areas and not visible to company. Do you have room in there to put down a couple of pads so he doesn't have to poop where he pees, and see if that makes a difference?

At my new wee house, ZoE's potty area is in the hallway outside the bathroom. It works for us, but everyone that comes over & uses the bathroom sees ZoE's potty area, so I had to invest in fabric covered washable pads that coordinate with my interior colours.
