Don't worry. I only went the one time, and decided to stick to my regular group.

(Missy, Missy's neighbors, and Uni) I only went to the group so Kaji can meet new dogs and people. It went well, and my then boyfriend went out of his way to play and make sure Kaji had a good time.

Bam is such a little cutie!

I have seen some Yorkies advertised as "Teddy Bear" or "Teddy Bear-faced" with higher prices because they have shorter muzzles. But, of course, there's shorter muzzles, medium-er muzzles, and longer muzzles just like there's smaller and larger ears and shorter and longer legs...and no such thing as a "Teddy Bear" or "Teacup" or "Standard" Yorkie.

I do understand your comment on putting other dogs down. My floppy eared fellow is on the higher end of the standard, weighing in at 7 lbs. at a yorkie meetup there were only tiny yorkies and the owners did not allow their dogs to play with mine. It was so sad and it made me feel horrible.

When I come across certain people, they seem to become canine experts and decide for me if Bam is a Yorkie. On occasion, they will even debate me even though I know he is pure Yorkie. I guess there are some who just love to be experts. LOL No matter what, Bammy is my buddy. And by the way, all your dogs range from being cute to adorable to very pretty. Yorkies rule!

My floppy eared yorkie is AKC registered and is 19#! My little girl's ears stand up and she is small but not AKC registered.

How awful! Nibblet and I would have played with you, and she's about 3 pounds. Nibblet plays with everybody, or, rather, everybody WILL play with Nibblet!

I think he's still standard, and all Yorkeshire Terriers are toys. And I think Bam is still standard at his weight. (I don't think there is such thing as Teacup).

That's horrible! I have never taken my Yorkie away from a Great Dane (She usually ran on her own hehe). I would probably yell at somebody if they did that to me, but that would start an unneeded fight.

When people ask me what type he is, I say Teddy bear because, if you look at his photo, he truly looks like a teddy bear. people seem to think that there is only one type of Yorkie. I don't think any breed has just one type. For example, poodles have toys, minis and standards in different colors. LOL

A purebred Yorkie is a registered breed. The AKC is the main registry of purebred dogs the U.S. While some breeds do come in different sizes the AKC only lists the Yorkishire Terrier in the toy category. Of course there is variation in the size of Yorkies but there has been no change in the official registry of the Yorkshire Terrier. People think of pet names such as teacup, teapot and standard but officially there is no such category for the Yorkshire Terrier. Since people advertize their Yorkies for sale under these pet names it has caused a lot of confusion for the general public. These names are made up, for what ever reason, by people who have nothing to do with changing the categories for the breed.

Well might I suggest you do a little research with the YTCA. There may be differences in yorkies but there is only one type.
