| I saw this on our local news and the story that was told was that the back seat was "cracked" so the dogs could get air. If it was "cracked" open abit then there is NO way that the dogs would of had access to the backseat, the owners even admitted,on camera, that they didn't want the dogs seen, they didnt want them stolen. Just who spends the weekend in a hotel and then moves to another hotel in the same city? Smells like fish, atleast 3 days old. Also, just because you spend alot on the price of a dog, does NOT mean that you REALLY care about them, you just dont want to have to replace them, there is a large financial investment there. If they were truely on their way to another hotel (I have doubts) they should of taken the dogs there and then gone to lunch. That would of showed that they truely cared about the well being of these animals. As for the comments made from the poster that is obviously school age (mentioned classes),I dont think that I personally would be posting direct quots of what my father said because "he works for the city of Dallas and knows the facts". Do you value the good stuff that his job provides? This is a free open forum and ANY BODY can read it,including bosses and teams of lawyers. The fire dept couldnt see that the back seat was moved for the dogs,as far as they knew the dogs were locked in the trunk,oh wait they really were because they didnt have access to the back seat to see out or be seen by people passing by. | Yorkie Yakker | Way off topic but this reminds me of a joke. It is 10 reasons dogs are better than wives. I don't remember all of them but one of the reasons was: Lock your dog and wife in the trunk for an hour, and see which one is happy to see you when you open the trunk. Sorry it is OT but it is late and my brain is rambling. |

| THe city was wrong to damage property like that. They could have gone about it in a couple of different ways. Everyone is contactable with a cell these days. It's not like they left the dogs in a 100 degree car for 8 hrs. I don't think this is a case of animal cruelty. Stupidity, yes. Just sayin |

| I cant believe that they would try to get sympathy for the damage to the car. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! Chloe has NEVER been left in a car period. Let alone the TRUNK!!!! I cant say what I really think here. Then to have these IDIOTS try to imply that the dogs are treated like family and that they were protecting them from being stolen. Really?! Family?! Would you lock your child in the trunk to "protect" them?!!? Treated like family my a**!!!! |

| If the dogs had access to the main part of the car they certainly would have been plainly seen by the people who wanted to rescue them. If they broke the window or opened it some other way the electronic alarm would have gone off and locked the trunk. We had that happen not too long ago when a friend locked his keys in the trunk of his car while traveling. He called the police who came and opened the car for him but it set the alarm off and the locks locked up again including the trunk. I suppose they could have waited a bit longer to see if the owners would come out to the car. It seems strange that these people had so much money but couldn't afford some carriers to put these dogs so they could travel safely in the car. A dog should never be allowed to roam freely in a car while it is moving. It seems a carrier would be a better idea than locking them in a dark trunk to keep them from unlocking the door. |

| Also, there are a lot of ways to have 'Lunch with friends' and not have to leave your pets. Getting a sammich to go, and a picnic comes to mind. |

How much they paid or didn't pay for their dogs has nothing to do with how much they love or don't love their dog. | |
