| Wait, what? You mean people actually take their dead dogs body and stuff them? I did not even know this was... considered for pet dogs. I find it gross.

| Yeah they have stuffed a couple of small dogs. Last show they stuffed a little long haired chi. They showed her taking out the guts and eyes, kind of a from the back of the dog shot and if I was the owner and saw that show and my baby being pulled apart...I'd be sad....

| Too creepy for me. But aside from the creep factor, what do you do with it after it gets kinda ratty and dusty? And to have the eyes open and staring--if I did it I would have them sleeping.

| I saw that on the soup While I don't knock anyone who would do this, we all have different ways to grieve and remember, I would never do it myself. I actually was like awww look at the yorkie, not paying attention to what was being said. Then I was like wow he is so still!!! Then I realized what it was... I was like OH MY GOD!!! And quickly turned the channel, but ,y roommate and I had already shed a tear.....

| Oh I do not think I could do that. If my dear Keally was stuffed it would bother me just to see her sitting still. I probably would freak out; I am glad I had her cremated. I have some beautiful portraits of her and I think that is enough. I guess each person has their own ideas but anyways I would like to see the show. It does sound interesting and quite different. |

| This one lady that got her yorkie stuffed was saying how she loved/s her yorkie more than her son and her son was standing right there! She loved that it was stuffed...but like some of you said...what are you going to do with it after? Just look at it? Pet it? change it's bows? Comb its hair? You can't get them wet or it will rehydrate the animal and start decomposition... I'd rather just cremate and bury. That's what I did with my Rottie...well, I haven't buried her yet but since I just bought a house I'm doing that next. I got a beautiful pendant that I can put some of her cremains in. GF got it for me for Christmas and she will handle the cremains transfer to the jewelry so I don't have to. Then we can bury her in the garden of my first and hopefully last home. She passed in 2006 and I've always rented and never wanted to leave her behind... Here is the pendant.... much easier on the eyes than a stuffed dead rottweiler collecting dust in the corner and freaking out friends and family including me!! | To each their own. People grieve in different ways- The thought actually crossed my mind while I was watching the show. I honestly would think about doing this- Did you see the one where the owner's chi died and they had it in the freezer for weeks?? Not sure about that, but hey not my life! I do think it would be nice to see them laying there. Pictures are Pictures, but to have them there in their form would be interesting.

| That is true. Some people find closure with that. It's just really not for me. It's hard to see them go but to me it would be harder to see them there and for them to never acknowledge me again... I did see part of that episode ...I can't imagine how stressful it would be to have such a huge responsibility as this guy has stuffing peoples loved ones.

| That is a good point, I never thought about that. That would be hard to see them and have just a blank stare... I've never lost a pet that I was really attached to. Peanut is my first dog. I mean I have had cats growing up that we had for 14-15 years, but I didn't have the bond I have with them that I have with Peanut. I know I will be a basket case when Peanut goes, I just hope and pray I get him for 14 years. I can't even get myself ready for something like that- I have lost a lot of close family members, My Dad, both grandparents on my Mom's side, and my Gpa on my Dad's side, so I know how to deal with that, but loosing a pet seems very different- its scary

| Yes, it's a different kind of pain. I still bawl when I think about Nikita but for some reason I cry in a different way when I speak of my Dad. Someone called me out on it once saying I seem to be more emotional when speaking of my dog passing but that's not the case at all. I got SUPER ticked off when they challenged me on that. It's not that I care less or more...it's just...different.

| I don't think that I could do this although the thought of looking over and seeing them in a sleeping position somehow is intriguing. I'm not so sure tho. I have my 2 cats ashes and I have not yet decided just what to do with them. I do want to spread them, but I have not been able to do yet.

| I've lost a few very special dogs in my life. Daisy was our Golden Retriever that "I" got for my 4th birthday. So she was my first dog who I grew up with. Of course I was too young to really take care of her. But when I turned 10, I got a German Shepherd, Sadie, and besides financial costs, she was mostly my dog through and through. She was really my first baby and she died when I was 14 (she was only 4 ) on my first day of school at a new high school. I can't even imagine if we still had her body somewhere in our house - that would freak me out sooo bad. And it would make me more sad because it's a constant reminder that she's dead. Plus I look at my dogs as almost human (I mean, obviously, treat him like a dog first, but he's a member of the family) and I would never keep a human body around and stuff it. That's disturbing. JMO.
