It will get there pretty quick. I cut a lot off of my boys' topknots on a regular basis. The initial growing part seems to take forever, and then boom!

Vellus satin cream is great for thickening up and keeping topknots healthy. I haven't used ours in awhile and need to order a fresh jar. The exhibitors love it for conditioning topknots after a show. I order directly from Vellus. Love their anti-stat grooming spray too.

These pictures made me laugh as they remind me so much of Chloe. She too prefers the "sheepdog" hairstyle

I have been having a very hard time getting her topknot hair to grow and thicken. Hers seems to be so fine! Do some yorkies never really get a nice topknot or is it just a matter of patience?

Some do, some don't. Max's topknot has thickened considerably in the past year. He is 3 now. When he was 1 year old, it was rather wispy even though it was long.
