It felt that way to me too Stephanie Do you remember the texts that his former teenage owner texted me that night when we met for you to pick Bear up? Wanting to know if her "friend" could use Bear as a stud for her female yorkie!!! Told me then and there what type of owner he was with before we rescued him out of that horrible home he was in.

Yes Michelle, I certainly do remember! This was definitely a rescue! I know he was in worse shape when you got him than what he was whenI got him from you.

Oh wow, I didn't know she was only 17, is she the one that was having a baby? I think I'm getting them all mixed up.

Nancy she is the one who had a two week old baby It was in my hometown. She hasn't checked on Bear since that first day, when she wanted to know if I would let her friend use him as a stud. I told her he was already scheduled for his neuter and he would never be a stud. Haven't heard a word from her since I burst that bubble. She doesn't know that I was only rescuing Bear for Stephanie, I was afraid it would scare her off if she knew and she wouldn't meet me..I just pretended that I was buying him from her yard sale.... here is a link for the original thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-so-wrong.html

Wow that is not a fair statement ! Breeders have NO legal rights after the dog is sold. Contracts that say the new owner must spay/neuter, contact the breeder before rehoming etc. etc. Can not be enforced. A puppy I sold in 1996 turned up 10 years later in a rescue. The owner died and her adult children gave it up, to a rescue. Thank Goodness they gave the rescue the dogs AKC papers and Vet records. Someone saw my name and called me. I was not able to adopt the dog myself at the time (I had too many dogs according to this rescue) But they did find him an excellent home. That Lab lived to be 15 ! I exchanged email and pictures with the couple that adopted him.

I think they are referring to the fact that the breeder sold her puppy to a 17 year old female who couldn't care for him. I didn't get the impression from anyone that the breeder wasn't reputable because the dog ended up needing to be rescued..she isn't reputable just because the rescue was due to who she sold him to.....
