| ![]() Our Dex will grab anything, leaves, twigs, anything. Once it's in his mouth he runs because he knows we will try to get it. Do all Yorkshires do this? |

| ![]() Geno does this ALLL the time! Any time he finds something in the other room, he'll run right into the living room and go behind the end table, and then under the couch. The way he runs into the living room is how I know he has something he shouldn't lol We usually get him out by bribing him with a treat and then the other person will look under the couch/end table for the item.

| ![]() Haha! I see he is successfully training you to play chase! You need to teach him the basics, sit, stay, come, drop it/give and one more, Leave it. You can do 'Leave it' first. Have treats in your left hand, have him sit in front of you, then put a treat on the floor with your right hand, near him. Say 'Leave it'. Block him at first if you have to to stop him from getting the treat on the floor. Treat him with the treats in your hand, never give him the one off the floor. He'll be much happier if you give him something he can have though, in place of what he did have, and more willing bc he'll know he's getting something in return.

| ![]() Welcome to the "grab anything and run club", Sophie Kate is a member. Nothing pleases her more than a good game of chase. It is very important to teach them the leave it command, I used that about 3 times a week. Yesterday she grabbed a pack to Post It Notes I dropped off my desk and took off in a mad dash down the stairs.

| ![]() I think all puppies do this lol. Callie would grab something and then take off out the doggie door when she was a puppy we would call her Klepto Callie. I taught the drop it/leave it and that plus the fact she out grew the chew on everything stage helped.

| ![]() Dink considers this great fun. Sometimes I pretend to drop a sock or whatever. One safety tip I read on YT though is to take medicine out of containers over a sink. Great tip that I use often! |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | ![]() Katie Scarlett is famous for this in our house too! She is a quick little booger! We have to chase her down to get it back. She tends to favor laundry and pieces of ribbon/paper that fall off my crafting desk. LOL! These little guys are such a mess! ![]()

| ![]() Rocco also does this. When he was very young, we taught "drop it" by NOT chasing him, rather grabbing a bag of shredded cheese from the fridge and command "drop it!"...even as a pup, he was always more interested in the cheese than anything and would come right to me. Then I'd reward him one strand of shredded cheese and say "good boy Drop It!". Worked like a charm. Now sometimes I swear he just finds somethiing to grab so he can have a piece of cheese. ![]()

![]() Seriously though, you may want to go through and really puppy-proof your house... you don't want to have him end up in the OR to remove foreign objects from his tummy...

| ![]() Oz has gotten into this game too except there are only certain things he'll grab and run with. SOCKS being #1 on the list, but he loves paper money and business cards as well as anything made out of wood. I think it's cute but we are very careful of what we leave laying around.

| ![]() Abby does this on walks only. She is on leash and thinks every leaf, twig, or whatever - is hers and belongs in her mouth. She does pretty good about dropping most things when I tell her to leave it. However, mesquite leaves are her favorite and I have to remove those. Thankfully, those do not hurt her, but every now and then I find a little leaf in her poop. In the house, if she picks something up and I give her the "ah ah ah" sound she drops it an sits looking at me. They are almost all goats - at least as puppies. |

| ![]() I am very concerned about this puppy. You said in one thread he was only 4 weeks old is thAT correct? He is way too young to be with you if that is the case. Also he needs to be confined when you cant watch him closely . He shouldnt be getting ahold and eating all this stuff
