| someone help me! ckc registration question here. I purchased my darling Gabby, on Craigslist this past labor day. I was her 4th owner, and only paid a rehoming fee of $150. I was very blessed I was able to find another "CKC" yorkie playmate for my Harley, whom also is CKC registered. I received the registration papers for him at time of purchase, which is stated in the CKC guidelines and regulations. The people I got Gabby from gave me all her paperwork and vet records from the previous owners; even a "condition of sale" agreement from the first buyer. Long story short, the breeder did not do what she was supposed to do by CKC rules. She made up contract and sold dog for $750 w/o papers and after buyer spayed gabby she wanted receipt for proof and then would send papers. The owner got rid of gabby, and didnt spayed her. I contacted the breeder and she wants $300 from me and then she will send me the original application for registration for Gabby. I am her 4th owner and I am not the original buyer. I love gabby and am very blessed to have her. Now Gabby might be pregnant, (not planned) and I know people who would love to purchase their puppies, but do not have Gabby's papers, and people want the papers. Has anyone else run into anything like this or have advice for me on what to do? I did contact CKC and they are sending me complaint papers. AND registering litter of puppies is FREEE. |

| I doubt you will ever get papers and nor are you entitled to them. This breeder didnt want this dog bred thats why she was withholding the papers untill proof of spay

She emailed me and told me that Gabby would've been sold originally w/ papers for $1200 if that is what the original owner was wanting to do with the dog. And told me this was her business aspect of it and wanted $300 from me to get that paper I need to get her registered. And that she paid $2400 on gabby's daddy and his grandfather was 2005 best in show......but to me this this has nothing to do with anything by CKC regulations and guidlines. The breeder/owner is supposed to give the registation paper at time of transfer if you are selling the dog as a CKC registered dog. AND SHE DID SELL HER AS CKC registered. | I read thinking I may be,able to add input but am confused. I read three times but still don't understand. You got Gabby for $150 then she was sold again for $750? Or was she sold before you bought her to someone else for $750 then returned and you bougjt het for $150 thinking she was spayed but she wasn't now she is pregnant and you need papers to sell puppies? I'm not sure if I said it all right but in honesty, after learning so much on YT, you may want to save the time and just rehome the babies as pets. I got AKC papers for my guy and never sent them in. Since I'm not showing him or breeding, he is my personal AKC ( All Kinds of Cute). When I see an ad for CKC puppy, I have to resist the urge to ask why they aren't AKC. I would just not struggle with the breeder for CKC papers and concentrate on good homes for the puppies then spay Gabby. Is the dad AKC or CKC? I'm no breeder nor do I know a lot, just didn't want you to stress out thinking the babies may not get hones if they don't have papers. Good luck to you guys.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I agree with Chachi. Sounds like you'll have to pay the breeder the fee she wants. Coming up with the fee shouldn't be too hard as you are selling the puppies. Honestly, if your potential buyers only knew a CKC registry is not good (the preferred registry of mills, and byb's), they probably could care less about the papers. I feel bad for this yorkie, 4th owner, and used only as a breeder

| I thought your little one had a liver shunt. Is this the same one? Why would anyone insist on having CKC registered puppies?

| IT is sad that I am her 4th owner. She is a wonderful dog, but just has jumping and nipping issues. she listens when you tell her to stop biting but she forgets. she jumps bc she is so happy to see people. i hope i can get her to stop. she is the most lovable huggable dog unlike my harley, he is more independant. he just always wants to play fetch. they get a long great and they are sooo much fun and fun to watch. I had diapers on gabby and kept my dogs seperated when i was at work or out running errands. I turned my back for a few minutes while I was cleaning my living room and realized they were MIA, so i went to front room and there they were, locked cheek to cheek, through the diaper and all. i was devasted. i personally wanted to wait until after her third heat cycle if I WERE going to breed her and educate myself on breeding yorkies before doing so. the difference between ckc and akc is the size and markings of the dog i guess. to be akc the yorkie has to meet certain height and weight measurements. akc has much higher standards. but i love both my dogs just the way they are. just need to get past this hump. no pun intended.......... |

did shunt test on her and sent off her bloodwork to A&M university. I was so happy this was not the case. i was so scared, but after i did some reading up on it, i kind of expected negative results, but is a scarey thing when something like this happens. I don't like to take any risks with my dogs and take them to the vet for everything and anything. | |

| Well I thought you just had an oops litter and never really intended to breed her. It sickens me that this poor dog has been passed around and passed around to end up in a home where she is gonna be a breeder. Thats all Im going to say because quite frankly I dont think very highly of you and what you are doing.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Is this the reputable Canadian Kennel Club or is this the paper registry, Continental Kennel Club? You can register any dog with the Continental Kennel Club even a mixed breed. People who don’t have breeding rights to dogs often register the offspring with the Continental Kennel Club. The papers are worthless.

| I am sorry if anyone thinks ill will of me or offended anyone. I had an unexpected situation happen and an issue to go along with that unexpected situation. I didn't come here to be judged or frowned upon. i have the best dogs and would do anything and everything to do what was best for them. i always try to educate myself and call my vet for any concerns when it comes to my babies. I am a new yorkie owner as my oldest is two and my youngest is one. I am still learning. i know nothing about breeding, or the whole registration thing. i came here for help. |
