| Bathing and Shampoo Hi Just got my yorkie Brooklyn about three weeks ago. I have taken her to get a puppy bath, but she has had some accidentals at home which lead me to bathing her. I need to know What's a good shampoo to use and how often should I bathe her? Thanks |

| Congratulations on your new puppy. With a good, mild shampoo, you could bath every day without doing harm. Coat Handler is probably the mildest recommended by Yorkie exhibitors and breeders. My favorite is Biogroom. Espree is also good and I think it might still be available at Petco. Most other good products, like Chris Christensen, are only available online unless you happen to live near a great boutique. I bathe my guys about every 7-10 days.

| We bathe Oz using a product called Bounce, once a week. I believe it's the one that's for sensitive skin. When we first got Oz we tried an oatmeal shampoo but he really scratched a lot so we switched to Bounce and he's been great ever since. Smells great, too! We bought it at PetSmart.

| Lately we have been using Yorkie splash, shine & sheen (smells great), but have also used I've san Bernard with PEK. I also like sparkle & shine by happytails - it rinses out really easily when I am in a hurry.

| I have been useing Biogroom on Bailey since a pup. We use hypoallergenic because people in my house get itchy from the dog shampoo if it is scented... we tried once, never want to go back. Bad situation. She still smells "fresh" but it isn't overpowering |

| Sometimes if it is cold, I toss a towel into the dryer so that the towel will be especially warm for him when he is ready to get dry. Try it sometime. He gets a weekly bath, but occasionally, he needs an extra |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | We bathe Katie Scarlett once per week with PetHead shampoo and a Coat Conditioner after that. She does pretty good with the baths. Sometimes if she gets dirty in between baths or has poopie stuck in her fur, I'll give her what we call a butt bath, where I just get her lower half wet and wash it. I use the Pet Head wipes in between too to keep her smelling and looking clean. We wipe after each visit to the pad, except at night when we are sleeping. My hubby makes fun of me because at the end of the week I'll say 'smell your daughter.' He will sniff and say 'she smells like a dog' and then he looks at KS and says 'Mommy doesn't want you smelling like a dog.' LOL! We are kinda particular around here I guess, but I can't help it!
