| Disgusted with the new IN thing Dying pets in bright colours!! I just saw this on the news this morning and it made me really angry. You could even see that the news anchors were horrified by it as well. Apparently photos of dyed pets have shown up in trendy magazines, and it's starting to catch on. I don't have any problems with putting a sweater on a dog or the bow in the hair. Sometimes I feel that people do treat their pets like dolls, but as long as the dog is safe and happy... each to their own. But this makes me think that people may use harmful chemicals on their dogs in order to make them look trendy. The lady who was doing it just said "it doesn't SEEM to hurt them"!! Seriously, I'm really angry.

| I disagree with dying as well... Too many times people aproach me and TELL me that I should dye my bichon because apparently she is like a blank canvas. Most of the time I just ignore them, but it's horrible that people are starting to catch on to doingg this.

| Probably going to feel the wrath for this but we dyed Silver for Halloween but had it done at the groomers with organic dye, they didn't put it close to the skin and you could still see her roots. It was temporary and has all pretty much washed out (It would probably all be gone if she got a bath more then once a week). I of course checked with my vet first and it's not something I plan on doing to her all the time if ever again. But I must say that Silver is NEVER treated as an object and I would do anything for her at anytime whatever it may be.

Thor's Human Donating Member | I have dyed Thor several times, including orange for Halloween. I use pet safe dye that washes out over the course of a few weeks.

| I think it's cute, as long as the dyes uses are non-toxic. What's the harm? For a cheap, non-toxic dye, I knew a lot of people that used unsweetened Kool Aid powder mixed with a tiny bit of water to make a paste. It washes out gradually. My groomer offers dye services, it's all organic and safe.

| I wouldn't do it I think it's silly. My groomers offers it in a dye made for dogs-it's safe for them unlike store bought people dye. Ironically local news guy (I think it's more his wife's dog she always walks it) they dye their white dog pink on the ears paws & muzzle-ironically where it would get pink staining from bacterial infection (beef stain).

| oh I "duno".......maybe, sure, why not. I think it would be cute to give a male a colored mohawk, or a few different colored spikes! (with kool-aid of course!

| I don't think I'd ever do it, but I don't see a problem if it doesn't hurt the animal & is very safe for their skin. Nothing like human dye. My mom used to have dalmations & around easter would dot them with food coloring. Though I thought it was kinda dumb it didn't seem to hurt the dogs in the least. I did just see a slide show or something the other day, maybe on Youtube, about dogs (like chows, etc) being 'painted' as animals & put on display in a zoo. I thought that was horrible, imo, as they were completely being objectified.

| Oy, I knew there were ridiculous people out there who dyed their horses.... (yes I know a person who dyed their QH black cause it had a few white spots and didn't match the breed description, filthy scoundrel) Personally I would never dye Harley's hair, I don't really see a problem with non-toxic dyes, but honestly, not everyone is smart enough to seek out safe products to do this with that is what angers me.

| I would not do that to my dogs, however, as long as it is safe and non toxic I don't have a problem with others who do. it is interesting and fun to see it . bUt, i don't know if dogs enjoy it
