YT 1000 Club Member | I've been using VPI for Romeo (over 2 years now) and to-date I have no problems with coverage/reimbursement. My vet bills direct to VPI and the payment is usually within 2-3 weeks. The 24/7 Animal Specialty Center also bills direct to VPI and the one time I had to use them I received my reimbursement in less than 3 weeks. You should also check with your vet on what he/she accepts and would recommend.

| The major ones: VPI Petplan Embrace Trupanion HealthyPaws ASPCA Pet's Best Each has pros and cons. There is a thread in the YT Library comparing three of them. My favorites are Petplan and Embrace. Be careful. Most aren't going to cover pre-existing conditions (which is fair), but at the start of a new insurance year, they consider any new diseases the pet has had now pre-existing. Each company has exclusions and limitations. Some have low policy limits, etc.

| I know banfield does a sort of insurance kind of thing, "wellness" plan. However, I don't use their services nor can I vouch for the credibility of the program. I also saw Kroger had some sort of pet insurance, but I don't know the details. Pet insurance is a really cool thing tho, def. do your research before you get into a plan that might not cover what you need. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have PetPlan for Pfeiffer, and I truly love it!!! I got it for her as a pup (she is almost 2). I sure wish I had gotten it for Wy and Marcel when they were pups -- bc when they get older, the pre-existing conditions can make ins kinda futile. Every pup who owns me going forward will have PetPlan . There are other good ins companies too -- I've heard Embrace is good, and VPI. Stay away from the Banfield thing - it's not insurance.

| Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We had Trupanion but were very unhappy with it. Paid for two dogs all year and found out the deductible was per CASE not annual. It was costing me $62 a month and no reimbursement. Sorry for the delay I have a very painful cracked rib!
