Why Argue with me? We just got back from camping and there was an "incident" in the state park . I took toby on a walk and i was stopped by this man, he says "excuse me, what kind of dog is that?" so i stop to talk to him and i told him "This is a yorkie" and at this point his kids who look to be around 9 and 7 run over and plop themselves on the ground RIGHT next to toby and start touching him. The dad just ignored this all together, there was no conversation abotu whether my dog was ok with kids! Thank goodness he is wonderfull with kids, but the guy goes on to say that they owned a TEACUP yorkie (abut 2 lbs full grown) and that it was TERRIBLE with children, so, he started to argue with me about the fact that toby is pure bred! Toby is a big boy (13 lbs) and he was saying it couldnt possibly be true yorkie because he is too big and yorkies are not good with children (which mine is) so he cant POSSIBLY be a yorkie... And then he started to get into "how much was he" (which i find an irritating question coming from someone who is arguiing with me) so i thought i would still be nice and said "500"... well he got this 'i told you so' look in his eye and said that it was too cheap to be a yorkie i politily told him that plenty of yorkies come with various price tags.. as if this guy isnt irritating and stupid enough, he says " so if this guy got stolen how much could he be resold for?" What in the WORLD, i honestly think that he wanted to steal my dog! I was very careful with toby and i noticed themwalking by our camp an awful lot (out of the way for bathrooms, showers, or anything else since we were at the back).... These people are wierd

How dare someone make you feel so uncomfortable. I would watch my Yorkie very close with someone threating to steal the little sweetheart. I am so glad you have a thirteen pounder. I have a nine pounder at 20 weeks. I have only been around the six or seven lbs when grown. I love the larger size. Don't know what the outcome will be on his size as he is still growing. I like the larger size. Maybe they can protect themselves better from people who have negative thoughts.

I would love to have a very tiny little Yorkie - but mine is going to be bigger, and he is going to be better off for it. Already his very best friend and playmate is a 21-pound Bichon that he plays with constantly. Surprisingly though, at only 4 1/2 pounds now, he really holds his own. In fact, he won't quit, and I think my Bichon gets tired first. When I got my little pup, they said he would probably be between 5 and 10 pounds, but I'll bet he might be bigger than that. He's 3 month's old and weighs just under 5 pounds now ---so maybe 10 or a little more would be a good guess. Only time will tell. By the way - my Yorkie loves little children more than anything else in the world. He will just play his heart out with little children --especially if they are lying on the floor so that he can get to their faces and kiss and lick and jump all over them. He thinks he has died and gone to heaven. The gentleman (bad choice of words) you visited with was certainly ignorant about Yorkies. And, yes, I and my Yorkie would certainly stay out of his way. You should have asked one of the little boys their name - "whole name and where they lived.....just in general conversation. Your knowing this information might have made the man a little reluctant to try anything. Sounds like you survived -- and that is good. Carol Jean
