| Direnda.......I can answer for me: There is nothing wrong with me. I saw what I wanted in another country, after several months of contact I got the puupies I wanted and LOVE them...Kissy should be in her first show in Alexandria in January. Angie |

| What are people who purchase from show breeders supposed to do. Their only option is shipping. Not everyone can drive to their destination or have the funds to fly there on top of purchasing the puppy.

| I think that in most cases it's best not to ship a puppy or dog in my opinion, but if you carefully look into the shipping arrangements it can be ok. I personally haven't shipped any puppies or ever had one shipped to me. |

That is great news! If you have found a mentor/breeder you can trust I say again.....it is wonderful. A lot of times tho......I will repeat myself....uneducated and unknowly.....a LOT of pet buyers can get taken to the cleaners.....by trusting an "internet breeder".....doesn't mean good stories do not happen....especially to someone who has taken the time to "get to know and trust" the breeder they are dealing with.....this is not the SAME. I am very happy for your emerging show career and wish you nothing but success.....truly I do. Maybe I'll see ya in Alexandria.

| I know there is an 8 week old limit. I think there should be a weight limit too. You shouldn't be able to ship such tiny little puppies. I think that if you have to ship a dog, ship two so they won't be as scared. |

I have had one puppy shipped and it was a wonderful experience and I have a beautiful, happy and healthy little girl who will turn one year old next weekend as a result. She is a rare (yes, I said "rare") gold and white parti-colored yorkie and I would never have found her locally. I spent many hours on the telephone with the breeder and the vet, first to comvince the breeder to even sell her to me because she had a lot of people who wanted her due to her uniqueness and also because I told her I had kids and other dogs. She really wanted this little girl to be an "only" dog and be spoiled like a Princess. I told her that my youngest child was 13, that I kept my other dogs separate except when supervised, and that this little one would belong to my seventeen year old who would treat her like a Princess and her baby under my strict guidance which she does! The breeder refused to ship her until she reached two lbs and had had her rabies shot and I respected that. She was 15 weeks when she shipped her and she came from Texas so the flight was short and the plane arrived early so we were there to receive her immediately upon her arrival. It was wonderful, she came out wagging her tail and licking my daughter's face. She was perfectly healthy and beautiful and more than we ever expected in dispostion and temperament although she is the alpha dog now. I would not recommend this for everyone and yes, things do happen (someone I know had her puppy spend the night with the stewardess when a plane had an unexpected lay over) This breeder had shipped a chihuahua that ended up spending the flight in the pocket of the pilot and he became so attached during the flight that he almost didn't give the puppy up....Haha! Anyway, I try hard not to judge people too harshly and there are a lot of precautions taken with animals in flight now. I don't think the "trauma" of a plane ride in a crate is any worse than the "trauma" of a car ride in a crate. The puppy doesn't know whether it is in a car or a plane. Just my thoughts on the subject.

Well...I guess that's the decided statistic for me!Must be my Irish skepticism...but I wouldn't hand anyone money, unless that squirming bundle of joy is in my hands personally.... Francie

NO!! I am not trying to tell someone they are wrong! I am trying to avoid more heartache........I am trying to get pet/companion buyers to realize the dangers of buying a puppy over the internet. I am NOT talking to "showring" want-a-be buyers or other breeders....they should be well educated by any mentor they have chosen.....I am sorry if what I posted was shocking.....But many many times it is the truth. I am NOT yelling....again I am attempting to get a potential puppy pet/companion buyer to "think" before sending a huge sum of money to a STRANGER. OH and I didn't ask the opinion.....I ANSWERED an opinion question put forth by someone else. And in my mind I AM DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.....I'm trying to educate the uneducated......THAT IN MY OPINION IS THE STARTING POINT.....last I time I checked there were over 6,000 people subscribed to this site.....that's an awful lot of people to educate with one post....don't ya think!!....even if it offends some. Sorry if "my opinion" offends you or if "my opinion" is not welcome.....I will exercise my "right" to voice my opinion to the day I die. PS.....I placed a puppy last year with a woman who was TERRIBLY afraid of flying......so much so that it was a health issue......SHE SENT HER HUBBY ON THE PLANE TO PICK UP THE PUPPY.....so that excuse is not really a valid one. I have even had people purchase a ticket for ME......so I would fly the puppy to new owner....there's ALWAYS a way.....putting a pup in cargo is not the "only" way to arrive at his destination. But as you say...everyone has their own opinion....and they are surely entitled to that opinion....

| I have never had a problem with Delta Dash, Pets First. I do not like any other airlines cargo I have tried. |
