I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even begin to imagine..... I would definitely spend a few dollars to consult with an attorney for advice on how to proceed. I also would contact the Better Business Bureau and ask for advice on how to lodge a complaint against that business. |
I am so sorry for your loss. If you believe the death of your furbaby was caused by either negligence or a deliberate act on the part of the groomer, than your local animal control might be a good place to start. After that, I would seek the advice of a lawyer to see if there was any further action you could take. Small claims court, where you represent yourself, might be another option. I'm also a big believer in the power of the press. If you believe this was a preventable tragedy, you might consider contacting your local paper or news station to see if they could run a story about it. That way it might possibly prevent someone else from suffering the way you have. |
First of all im so sorry for your loss. A few years ago a relative of mine brought her dog to groomer to get her nails clipped and the groomer cut the nail to close, a blood infection formed and the dog died soon after. I don't really remeber the details because I was living far away at the time but I can find out for you. I believe she sued and won...at the very least the cost of the dog, and vet bills. |
I am so sorry that is awful,,,my DIL"s sister took her poodle to the groomer and most likley yours was drowned like hers was |

I don't leave my pups at the groomer. If I cannot sit there, then they don't go. Period. |

After picking up their dog from the groomer they took it for a necropsy and was told that it was drowned |

OP there is an attorney in BR who deals with animal laws. I don't have the name, but perhaps you can google for it. Are you close to BR? |
Oh! I just found this.....a list of attorneys in LA who specialize in animal law: Animal Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association |
This is just so very sad. I'm so sorry for your tragic loss of your baby. |
I bet the dogs that drown at the groomers do so getting sprayed with water while being rinsed. They probably did not realize you do not have to be underwater to drown. |
This is so sad. I hope you contact some lawyers, the BBB, Animal control, your local news, all the online review sites. I remember a thread on here a while back a baby was left in the cage dryer and suffered 3rd degree burns. Poor baby was cooking from the inside out, but she survived. The damage was horrific. :( http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...n-graphic.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...-largo-fl.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...es-friend.html |
