Oh my this is just terrible and I am so sorry this happened to you and your baby. May his/her soul rest in peace and I hope the laws in your state allow you to take legal action (even though it won't bring your baby back).

I am so sorry for your tragic loss:( This is just heartbreaking. I hope you can put this horrible groomer out of business and take some sort of legal action against them. RIP sweet little one.

I was overwhelmed at the number of responses!!! Thank each and every one of you... and I truly know that Yorkie owners are wonderful, caring, loving people. I did have an autopsy performed that day and the vet said "this shouldn't have happened." He also said he had never seen a tiny dog in such excellent health. She died of a broken neck. Be careful about choosing your groomer, but do know that this is not a common occurrence. I especially want to thank the sweet people that sent links or specific information. Blessings to all.

This is so terrible! I am sooooo soooo sorry for your loss! :( I hope that groomer/business gets whats coming to them. How can someone be so neglectful with a living being? It makes me sick.

(This may be a duplicate post, but I think I sent it to one person and I meant it for the group) I was overwhelmed by the number of responses from members. I can certainly tell that Yorkie owners are wonderful caring people! I especially thank people who sent links or specific information. As I left the groomer, I immediately took my furbaby to the vet for an autopsy. The next day when he gave me the results, the vet said "This shouldnt have happened." He assured me he had neever seen a tiny dog in such excellent health. She died of a broken neck. Please be careful in choosing a groomer, but know that this type tragedy is not a common occurrence. Blessings to each of you and your Yorkies.

Oh my gosh. I am just in shock reading this thread. Again, I live in my bubble. :(

First, OP I am so sorry for your loss. My heart just breaks for you. I do hope you get the word out about this so others will know. I hate it that you are even having to deal with all this. Again, I am so very sorry.

Secondly, I can't believe this type of stuff happens. I go to an individual who grooms Rosie and Mikki at her home. I feel really safe with them there because she does allow me to stay if I want to. I am just wondering, does this happen with individuals or are these business type groomers? Not that it matters, just curious.

It is usually with business types. I'm fortunate in that my dog's breeder does grooming at home so she ONLY goes to her. Once I took her to a business place bc her breeder didn't have any openings available in the timeframe I needed and it was only to a face trim so I thought she'd be ok, yeah she came back sick from treats they fed her. Obviously it's NOTHING compared to the OP's heartbreak, but this just goes to show that we can't be too trusting of who we leave our babies with. I'm sure there are tons of reputable business groomers, but you just have to be VERY careful.

Thanks so much. Another reason for me to keep my current groomer. I love her to pieces. And she loves my babies. They have it made there! Last time I picked them up her DH was holding Mikki and Rosie was sleeping in her chair! Such sad stories. Thanks for making me aware of the situation.

I am so sorry. This is horrifying. I try to groom them as much as possible myself but occasionally they need a professional job to even things out. This just breaks my heart and I think I will have trouble sleeping tonight thinking about this. Hugs...
