I repeat the sentiments of so many others here when I say how terribly sorry I am for your loss. I think you were wise to have an autopsy done and if you pursue legal action I wish you well in that endeavour. It's not about being vindictive but in holding people accountable for their actions or lack of them. While accidents can happen there is no excuse for negligence and there are too many stories of people who have had dogs injured or die due to negligence. The only way to help protect other people's animals is by holding those responsible, accountable. Again, so sorry for your loss. It breaks my heart. :unlove: |
You did just give me a hug! Thank you..... |
This is so heartbreaking. How on earth did they break this poor baby's neck? Maybe you should post this in the groomer reviews section as well. Breeder, Vet, & Groomer Reviews - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know if I could take Lil Bit or Beamer to a groomer after reading this. I have a great groomer who comes to the house. |
The only way I can see how it happened, they would have had to leave that baby unattended on the grooming table and it tryed to jump off. So horribly sad. Glad an autopsy was done too. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. I will most definitely give my yorkie a kiss. |
I sat holding my baby, reading this thread. I just want to cry! I feel sadness for you and anger on your behalf. I am so sorry for your loss. |
:animal36 Oh my, my heart just breaks for you, I am just beyond words to express my heart felt feeling for your loss. I am praying for you, I hope that your groomer will get in alot of trouble & have to close the business. That is just horrible, I am so so sorry that you have to go through all of this. So terribly sad.......:mad::mad::mad::mad::aimeeyork:anim al-pa |
I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you. This is just tragic! I wish there was something I could do or say to ease the pain. I will keep you in my prayers. |
I am so very sorry for your loss. There are Four components here... 1) Neglect is a form of Abuse... there are Laws against that. 2) You are experiencing Pain and Suffering... you should be compensated. 3) You have experienced a physical/financial loss... you should be compensated. 4) Any Counseling Legal/Psychological, Representation or any cost related to the pursuit of this issue, are recoverable. |

Disclaimer: I am not an attorney in the State of Florida and cannot give legal advice - but I do watch the judge shows. |
This is sooo horrible, these poor babies! I have always groomed my pups myself and thank god for that now! I'm so sorry for your tragic loss and thank you for shedding light on this topic, so sad:( |
i am so very sorry for your tragic loss of your sweet baby. it is completely shocking and heartbreaking that this has happened! i hope for you that there is a way to take legal action on this groomer so this does not happen to anyone else's baby. my heart goes out to you and you will be in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. makes me think about mine getting groomed again. i have a wonderful lady who has a mobile grooming unit that comes out to my house and does my 2 girls in my driveway, but now i am even questioning if i should allow this again. what a terrible terrible tragedy, again, i am so sorry. hugs to you! |
BMom, You make a very good point !, and my fervor is not directed at you. But of the "Judge Shows" Ive seen on TV, words like Farce, Gaggle, and Laughable come to mind, when one considers and compares the abilities of Professional Council. I suggest that whimzi have her case herd in a real Court instead of relying on a judicial decision, by someone they picked up at a Shopping Mall. |

Normally, they would not award pain and suffering for the loss of a dog - which the courts consider to be personal property. Maybe one day that will change - because WE all know that the loss of our precious pups sure can cause lots of pain and suffering. OP, I am so, so sorry for this devasting loss. |
Roman V Caroll (Arizona) 1985 Judge ruled that as a dog was personal property owners cannot cover damages for emotional distress as a dog is personal property. Same as Pantelopoulos v. Pantelopoulos (Connecticut) 2005 and more recently Henning, et al., v. Nicklow (Indiana) 2009 Unfortunately dogs are seen as personal property. I wish they would change that! |
