| ![]() Chachi has gotten better but a few years ago when he had mange and had to go there for repeated treatments he did the funniest thing. We always take him in his travel crate. No matter what we did we could not get him out of it. He was digging his feet in the floor so he didnt have to come out. So we had to turn the crate completely vertical with doorway facing down to force him out. I think the different smells sounds and people can make them nervous

| ![]() If you go out and about often with Kaos why not stop by the vet's office just for a visit and socializing? Just walk in, look around in the lobby, and leave. My vet always has treats he offers my dogs, as does Sonic Drive Inn and my bank. They love all three places and EXPECT a treat at each stop. This will help future visits because going there won't mean every time is associated with shots or an illness. Just a thought.

| ![]() My vet has treats sitting out for the dogs too. Kayla could care less. She gets so freaked out she doesn't care what they are giving away. The way she loves to eat its funny that she won't even smell the treat. I bought her the thundershirt and I hope it helps because the last experience we had with her was horrible. Glad yours did great the next time around. I just don't know what to do with Kayla. The rest of them so great. |

| ![]() Ahi loves her vet and her assistant! She goes nuts when we walk in because she wants to run around and greet everyone. If I have her in her carrier she whines and scratches to come out. ![]() I'm glad Kaos' appt went well. ![]()

| ![]() Jackson KNOWS when we are at a vets office. Even if we've never been there. lol. Must be the smell. He does not even like walking near the Banfield section of Petsmart or the grooming section. He gets sooo nervous.

| ![]() At the Vets there is a lot of tension inside the building and outside where dogs send pee Messages. Even if nothing bad ever happens to them there, some bad things do happen at the Vets. Dogs can smell, fear, blood, urine, feces, vomit and medications. I think you can desensitize most dogs to the Vet's. It is important to have a confident, positive attitude at the Vets. Try popping in when you don't have an appointments. Sit in the waiting room about 5 min.s chat with the staff and other people waiting. Weigh your dog, have them sit and treat. Tell people what you are doing, I have found most people are very supportive.

| ![]() Rosie gets really nervous when we go to the vet. Mikki not so much. I think mine is just so attached to me. She don't like it when I hand her over to the vet! ![]()
