At the Vets there is a lot of tension inside the building and outside where dogs send pee Messages. Even if nothing bad ever happens to them there, some bad things do happen at the Vets. Dogs can smell, fear, blood, urine, feces, vomit and medications.
I think you can desensitize most dogs to the Vet's. It is important to have a confident, positive attitude at the Vets. Try popping in when you don't have an appointments. Sit in the waiting room about 5 min.s chat with the staff and other people waiting. Weigh your dog, have them sit and treat. Tell people what you are doing, I have found most people are very supportive.
