| Battle of the sexes Ok so I have a question(s) in regards to both male and female yorkies. First which sex is easier to train? Who's fur grows faster? The boys' or the girls' fur? And which sex matures faster? I just want to get you guys' opinion!! And I already know sometimes the answer is: it just depends on that specific dog!!

| I believe it does come down to individual dogs, maybe certain Yorkie lines. Basically, genetics. My boys were easy to potty train (breeder trained Teddy because he was older when I brought him home), dispelling the myth that girls are easier than boys. Max was born mature, lol. Teddy is still growing up at age 2. Coat: I would love to know from experienced exhibitors if they think one gender has an advantage over the other. Seems to me that boys tend to outgrow the girls.

| My boy was alot easier to train. In fact we never did get Jewels to learn simple tricks. Chachi is also better at potty training

| i have a girl, she's 5 months and completely potty trained. she will sit on command when i give her a treat and i never once worked with her to train her to sit. She's so smart that I have to be careful when i pick up her "poo" off the puppy pad because she's knows that I take it to the toilet and flush it and she'll try to pick it up and take it and lay it at the bottom of the toilet if I leave it too long. |

| Its really does depend on the dog. Callie was pretty easy to potty train and is very easy to teach a trick to or how to use the stairs and stuff to but she does get stubborn sometimes and wont do what she knows she is supposed to do or just wont do it because she is mad. Callie has thick hair and my moms rescue as thin hair Sammys grows faster then Callies. I'm not sure what you mean about which matures faster.

| Sorry to disappoint you, but it really does depend on the dogs personality. Some dogs just love to work for you. With service dogs, trained observers can see differences almost from birth. Some dogs are smarter than others, just like people. I have found the easiest dogs to train are usually the follower type . Not the most dominate in the litter, who is first at everything, and not the shy I worry a lot kind. I also think some breeds are easier to train in general. I do think neutered males are easier to train, than males who are not.

| i've had 5 male dogs, 3 females come through my home while I was fostering. i find it's more a matter of size. my big dogs never needed potty trained, however were much less likely to pick up on routine as fast. my little dogs were harder to potty train... by just a little, but they picked up on things like when it's time to eat, time to go night night, etc much easier. my little dogs seemed to mature faster. and as far as coats, i'm of no help there :/ I know that Maci's grows super fast. |

| Rosie was super easy to potty train. And well, Mikki came to me potty trained. My friend has a male and has a hard time. So, I assumed girls were easier. However, it may boil down to the individual dog!
