| <3 No Love <3 Hey YT I love my baby Julius to death always wanting to hug him and cuddle with him, but the problem is, I don't think he likes me!!! He rarely wants to be held, and won't lay on me, only next to me. When I try to give him a kiss he will turn his head. Everytime I try to pet him, he only wants to bite my hand. He certainly has no problem whinning when I leave the room. Maybe i am just looking into it to much. Is it just him being a puppy? Or can he really not like me?

| My Tessie is 2 1/2 now and she is this way with me. She was my Mothers day present in 2009, but now she just tolerares me unless it is time to eat and prefers my husband. I kniow she loves me she just doesn't like to be affectionate.

| Sophie is like that too. She doesn't want to be held or sit on my lap but is perfectly content to snuggle next to me. It is a little depressing, but after 2 and 1/2 years I now appreciate that she just likes to be near me and not constantly in my face. We can sit for hours on the couch and not move. If I get up I know when I come back she will be laying there in the same spot. I think she already knows she has all my attention and love and doesn't need to be in my lap to receive it she is a secure "child." Lol |

| If he is still a puppy he could need a lesson on bit inhibition (I think I used the right term there), if he is downright biting you, he may not know better. I would also try to make yourself more interesting, try building the bond, by making time with you the most interesting thing on earth, try every type of toy until you find his favorite, and keep that one just for you, he can only have it when you're around.. same with food, find a treat that is his absolute favorite... There is nothing in the training books that says bribery at the right times is a bad thing :d

| i dont think he doesnt like you, he just has that type of personality, and i guess most "dog people" prefer really affectionate pets. But i can tell you i know he loves you, its just yorkies are different, like people

| Some are more affectionate than others. It has it's pros and cons. Pros to having a snuggler, he will lay on my chest for hours to get some lovin I fall asleep cuddled up with him in my arms, and I feel as though he absolutely adores me. Cons, I can't do anything without him wanting to be on me, sometimes it gets a bit old and tiresome (mine won't eat if I'm not there with him which worries me) and I've found lots of tennis balls in my bed which can cause backaches. Kaji likes to have his favorite person and his favorite things all in one place. I forgot to add, I do love it. Even if he is a bit needy sometimes, I love having him. I know I can get needy sometimes and he will go to his space to take a break from me. It goes both ways in this house.

I know my boy is more cuddly than my girl, but as time goes on, my girl is becoming more affectionate. They really all do have their own unique personalities, just like people do. Also, I seem to notice as the weather gets cooler, suddenly everyone (both dogs and all 4 cats) are on top of me at all times! I'd like to think they're looking for affection, but secretly I suspect they're leeching my heat.

| Dogs have their moods, too. I find my little girl likes to sit on my lap sometimes but other times she would rather be playing. At night time she sleeps next to me, I certainly would not want her on me. Maybe you are just being to forward for your little guy. Puppies are usually on the move a great deal of the time and do not want to be restrained. As he matures he will want to sit with you more. Just let him be himself and don't put a lot of expectations on him as far as the attention you get. If you give him lots of love and the proper training he will become your best pal. Just remember he is more interested in play right now than kisses and naps. |
