Sophie is like that too. She doesn't want to be held or sit on my lap but is perfectly content to snuggle next to me. It is a little depressing,but after 2 and 1/2 years I now appreciate that she just likes to be near me and not constantly in my face. We can sit for hours on the couch and not move. If I get up I know when I come back she will be laying there in the same spot. I think she already knows she has all my attention and love and doesn't need to be in my lap to receive it
she is a secure "child." Lol
