Most of your post were great.. Many of use make our own things. That is the curse of people who can create.. We look at something ad think..hmmm ican do that!

It's not links to fabric and raw material that drew attention..that's great. But it was taken as promoting an outside vendor .. After we posted Sherrie name on the thread.

I really didn't mean to put her in the middle.sorry

I hope you see the positive in this, we are loyal. I hope you understand as you become part if our community we will be loyal to you also

Jodi I really appreciate you and everything you do for Yorkietalk and I hope you rethink this matter. I mean people here sell dog food, does that mean we shouldn't link other dog foods? Can we never tell anyone about good values at Target and Walmart and other online sites just because someone makes and sells a similar product? There are all sorts of products sold by Yorkietalk vendors and I link the list every chance I get, but Yorkietalk members can choose to do business with whoever they want.
Thank you. ...and I have purchsed from 3 different YT venders already

Members of YorkieTalk are allowed to post links to any other stores or outside vendors as long as they are not posting it in a Yorkie Products for Sale thread to "compete" with a YorkieTalk seller's thread, as long as it is not their "own" store they are shilling for as that is unethical, and as long they are not spamming our forum with multiple links or posts to a particular store. If there is a product that is copyrighted and there is a link to a copied product, we may take action, or if there is a product linked that is counterfeit, we will take action.

Members are welcome to buy from whomever they choose, or they may make their own products if they so wish. We believe in sharing information which may help our community and it is ultimately up to each individual member as to where they may choose to buy their products from. We do fully support our YorkieTalk vendors and give them a section to sell their products and we also have a list of YorkieTalk vendors which is maintained by Nancy1999 for the benefit of our community.

Exactly my point! Something that is handcrafted is not the same as dog food unless they are pressing nuggets in their basement

Years ago I would participate in crafts show, spend hours making crafts only to have "noncustomers" standing within ear shot claiming to be able to make my crafts. It was just burned me up to listen to them and I take that along with me now.

I guess I overlooked this reply from you. Thank you! I did buy the simplicity pattern and will try to make the bed. Glad to hear there are a few people that think it's a pretty simple pattern to make!

I had already purchased my fabric before this post. So I was not interested in buying a bed from anyone and still not.

I asked how much her (normarae) beds were and got no answer. ..but it didn't matter because I already had purchased my fabric and was going to make one.

And I know how it is to make things to sell... Not everyone is going to buy your items. There are many people who make things and sell them.
I own a primitive/country store (home decor and gifts). We have furniture, curtains, rugs , pictures , candles and all kinds of stuff from companies but we also have lots of hand-made items. Some which are made by me. I have had people to call me and ask how I make something and I tell them. Why shouldn't I ? I can not force people to buy MY item if they don't want to. if they want to make it themselves, then go for it. If they want to buy from another person or store, well that's okay too.
Same with these dog beds. I'm sorry if you think the link I posted may have taken business away from the lady (Normarae). That was not my motive. I was just posting the link because there were others here that made comments that led me to think they were interested in these type of beds and also didn't want to pay a lot. I seen this lady's page on Etsy and see she had these beds and thought the price was very fair so i posted it. It was nothing personal toward anyone. I meant nothing by it all. I was just passing it along for others. I'm not buying one from her. I'm not buying one from anyone.

Thank you, This is good to know. At first I was under the impression it was against the forum rules.

Could someone tell me where you found your pattern? please?
I am sorry I never got back to you yesterday with the pattern #, and I couldn't find it as I am redoing my sewing room and at the moment can't find any of my patterns! (Lol) I did recently purchase a number of dog patterns (both in and out-of-print) off Ebay... Lol... I have a problem with paying $15 for new patterns...last time I sewed patterns were going for $3-$4. Ebay prices are great! Good Luck... I'm looking forward to seeing ypur pics!

LOL... Some others on here told me the pattern number and I bought it. I had to pay $7 for it. Ebay is a great place to get patterns!

Sometimes I buy patterns at patternMart online. It usually for dolls.. I make some primitive dolls. You don't have to be an expert at sewing to make the primitive looking stuff! So that's mostly the kind of sewing I do!
Thanks!

I understand not being able to afford $100 for a bed but please_how do you think that the vendor feel when members are not even appreciative of all the LABOR that goes into making the items they sell. They are not your aunt who you are expecting to spend a day of her time saving you a few bucks! It's not funny as you are LOLing your way insulting vendors.

Furthermore, you say your aunt is a seamstress and you expect her to help. What about her time and expertise. I sew too and do not appreciate others expecting to use my skills unless I were to offer. After she spends her time are you going to offer back YOUR time for something that you have a talent with?

The above is not just directed at you but all of the people who come on posting they want free patterns for clothes, belly bands, diapers, pee pads, dog beds~on and on.

There is a "certain" member of this forum who purchased a Cloud 9 bed from YHR took it apart to copy to sell elsewhere. Seriously~they are trying to steal from a YORKIE RESCUE~who does that! What kind of a PO$ does that!

Personally, I support the vendors of YT because they support the forum and also support rescue. What does the Etsy vendor do for anyone expect themselves? When it comes to custom merchandise that is sold on the forum I believe we should respect their venue and not post outside links for like merchandise.
Does YHR have a "petal" drawstring bed in it's boutique? Not sure if you realized but, that is the bed that was being discussed here...not the "cloud 9" bed.

Nope just the Cloud 9 but as you know that was bought by someone and is being sold for their own personal gain.

But JenCar has sold thebed that is being discussed with profits going to YHR in the past. But really that wasn't my point.

Yes, I do know of the Cloud 9 Bed and it's pattern copied for another member to sell on etsy.

My point was this thread had nothing to do with a Cloud 9 bed but, another bed entirely. The Petal Drawstring Bed is completely different from the Cloud 9 bed and is from Simplicity. This thread had nothing to do with "copying" a pattern or selling the pattern.

As for anyone making a bed, clothes, whatever...if a thread is started to discuss anyone who has experience or just sewing knowledge or skill required for a particular pattern...I see nothing wrong with that.

If I wanted to start a thread to ask about how to make Belly Bands, would I be slighting Cathy or anyone else who makes them? Of course not. I love that Cathy has found another avenue that she has a passion for but, I don't think that prohibits me or anyone else from making or discussing Belly Band construction. However, when I discuss "my" intentions of selling Belly Bands than I could see how that might offend Cathy. Of which I have no intentions...and anyone who might need one or anything else Cathy has to offer I know they will get wonderfully made items!

I have to agree with Nancy & Admin on this one...but, I will always love your passion for rescue...thank you for all you do!

Does all Walmarts carry patterns now that they have done away with selling fabric?

I done a search online for a pattern. I searched under "cinch dog bed" and "puppy pawd dog bed" and "dog bed". I came up with stuff for other kinds of beds but not this one.
Ok, there was a pattern in the Simplicity book that has three different sinch beds in it. The number of the pattern is 2297. Our Wal-Mart has tons of material thank goodness, cause we don't have any other store in our small town that does.
