Does anyone know how to make these beds?

Anyway, the pattern that I think is a Simplicity or maybe McCalls was fairly easy to do. The time consuming part was mapping out the area's that you sew to make the petals.

Oh and the grommets were fun...I ended up putting them on the side that I had intended as the lining...but, no biggie.

I purchased the simplicity pattern. Glad to hear there are some who's made them that think they're fairly easy to do!
I also have an aunt that would help me if I call her and ask. She can sew as well as anyone I've seen. She used to make formal dresses and all kinds of things for people. So if I can't get it figured out, then I'll ask my sister to help , if we can't get it , I'll ask my aunt

i found the pattern for them. it was in a simplicity catalog at Joann Fabrics. i can't wait to make one because i love them too.

. I understand why people charge what they do , the materials and time add up. My mom has sewn forever, so she was there to guide me. Im hooked , I want to do one with the pedals and a pretty green and pink fabric.I only have boys so Allie is my daughter!!

The other thing that I intend to do (later...) is to enlarge the pattern for my tpot, Bella-Boo...she's a 13 lber and likes to stretch out at night time.

Again, just remember, don't do as I didn't do and be sure to put your grommets on the "outer" fabric...lol

Honestly, after making one...I could easily see a price point of at least $75.

I actually bought a cotton heavy twill I found at an upholstery shop cuz my girls like to dig in their beds before they settle down and I wanted them to last...for awhile at least!

I've seen the ones on here for that much, they are GORGEOUS, but figured I could make one for a lot less. I was so excited with the finished product.

I made one for Zhoie. It's Simplicity Pattern #3906, you can get it at JoAnn's Fabric.

I have this pattern and have plans for making it,My mom made one for her Ruby, and it looks Fabulous.. She made it in an hour she is a very experience seamstress, I am going to make one as soon as I get the fabric, I will post pictures when I am done..

I found this lady on Etsy who is selling these beds for $38.
Handmade clothing toys and much more by JMFSewingDesigns on Etsy

They're made with the fleece fabric. She might do a special order and make them with a mink-like fabric if wanted.... I don't know. Most everyone I've bought stuff from through Etsy is willing to do special orders. Of course if she makes them with a more expensive fabric, the price would be higher I'm sure.

The YT vendors pay an annual fee to sell and for you to post a link to an outside vendor is pretty much a slap in the face to the people who sell on the forum I might be in the minority here but I find posting your posting a link to Etsy pretty darn rude.

I understand not being able to afford $100 for a bed but please_how do you think that the vendor feel when members are not even appreciative of all the LABOR that goes into making the items they sell. They are not your aunt who you are expecting to spend a day of her time saving you a few bucks! It's not funny as you are LOLing your way insulting vendors.

Furthermore, you say your aunt is a seamstress and you expect her to help. What about her time and expertise. I sew too and do not appreciate others expecting to use my skills unless I were to offer. After she spends her time are you going to offer back YOUR time for something that you have a talent with?

The above is not just directed at you but all of the people who come on posting they want free patterns for clothes, belly bands, diapers, pee pads, dog beds~on and on.

There is a "certain" member of this forum who purchased a Cloud 9 bed from YHR took it apart to copy to sell elsewhere. Seriously~they are trying to steal from a YORKIE RESCUE~who does that! What kind of a PO$ does that!

Personally, I support the vendors of YT because they support the forum and also support rescue. What does the Etsy vendor do for anyone expect themselves? When it comes to custom merchandise that is sold on the forum I believe we should respect their venue and not post outside links for like merchandise.

Thanks for posting this Jodi as I had never thought of it in this way. Yesterday someone posted for places to purchase items and I gave them a link to PPEpets. I think they were looking for coats and shoes. I knew I had seen coats on sale there in the FOS sale and posted the link. I didn't even think of giving them Karens info for boots until Nancy (nancy1999) posted. I felt horrible, because Karen helped me out so much with Jada when she had a reaction to some treats and was itchy and scratching constantly. I did post again to that thread to tell them how wonderful Karen is to work with when you need shoes/socks/boots.
I am sure there are others who have posted links too without even giving it a second thought. I am going to be more thoughtful in the future.
And a big to whoever bought a cloud 9 bed to steal the pattern.

We got ours from YT member maddieadoptedme and she did a great job. It is cotton on one side and blue jean on the other. You could try pming her and seeing if she'll make you one.

I have the pattern for this bed it is simplicity patten #3906 it is still available. It is a pretty simple pattern to make. you can get it at Joann's or any where that sells patterns.
