They usually only bark when they are playing and all excited or else when someone comes to the door. If he hasn't barked it may be he is just laid back. Does he seem content?

He plays alot and seems to be very content. He really likes his toys!!

Take it from me, my husband has an 8 year old Jack Russell that we've had since he was 6 weeks old. He's not nearly as hyper as his puppy years, but he's never stopped barking! If a cat's in the yard, neighbors walking past the house, UPS man, mail carrier, you name it, he BARKS!! LOL......Chloe on the other hand, my precious Yorkie looks at him like he's nuts, and doesn't make a sound. She only barks when she's playing. I bet I've not heard her bark once or twice since I've had her. That suits me just fine too! LOL

OMG...If I only had your problem....lol...my gizzy is yapper of the year for sure. He barks if the wind blows......my goodnesss if Giz did not bark I would be worried sick. He will go in the bedroom and stand at the foot of my bed and bark til I get up and go see what he wants.

Jack didn't bark much as a puppy either and now just barks if something startles him or he's playing. Enjoy the quiet time while you can.

If he is happy and healthy you just have a Yorkie that doesn't bark. It can be annoying at times to have a very verbal dog. I swear Gracie thinks I can understand her sometimes. She expects me to respond when she comes up and barks in my face.

Zhoie didn't bark at all as a puppy. She will be 3 in Jan., and now only barks if she is in the back yard and someone walks down the road. She is then a racing from one end of the yard to the other, barking like a lunatic. I let her go at it...gets her some exercise, LOL. Maybe he is just a laid back kinda fella. Zhoie is very laid back.

Your little one will discover her voice and will bark . Your lucky you have a quiet one. my three in a half year old yorkie is a barker and is LOUD. It is funny that such a little dog can be so darn loud. My shih tzu does not bark hardly at all. But, if it is nightime and Suzi is in the bedroom the shih tzu will bark like crazy in the front room. I guess Suzi barks long and loud enough for the both of them.

We have had Nya since May and I have yet to hear her bark. Her previous owners said she did not bark and I have never met a yorkie that never barked at all so I figured they meant she does not bark a lot.

The closest she came was the other day she was laying in her bed and looking at the couch making these really tiny woof woof sounds that resembled a bark, but so so quiet. She also howled once when my hubby was in another room, he is certain it was her as Pixie does not howl.

For the most part she is just a very quiet girl. I was beginning to wonder if she even knows how to bark
