Rag Quilt....Thanks Tena for the Inspiration!!!

Jada your quilt is beautiful. Such talented ladies!!!
I have made a lot for baby gifts, as blankets and as wall hangings.
I have always received complements on them

I attached a couple I have made for babies. The dog (my sweet bailey) was not part of the gift!!!
I embroiderer baby animals on the blocks -- the other was the baby's name

Aw....Shinja, you are KILLIN me here with the embroidery, .

I really struggling with myself NOT to buy one of the embroidery machine because they are so dang expensive. Everytime I talk myself out of it, I see some of your gorgeous work and I start wanting all over again....errrrr.

Seriously, you do beautiful embroidery...LOVE it!

I think you should send the flour sacks to me... just kidding

I would have them appraised first.. they could be valuable as flour sacks? I know there was a time the antique glass was a hot item. Having grown up in Bristol I probably have some of the same "items" pack away for future grandkids

I do love the ideal of using old clothes.. I have made a rag quilt using old jeans.. turned out very nice

Gosh I never thought of the flour sacks as being valuable They are in perfect condition, no fading or holes. I know some of my glassware is, but never gave a thought to the linens and flour sacks....wow you would have been a nearly neighbor growing up...Bristol is just a little over an hour away from us

I know what you mean.. I have an old machine but it is a viking and cost a fortune .. and I did not prefix that with the word "small". But today they have machines that are a somewhat simpler and can do some very nice emborder. It is only worth it if you will use it.

I think we really "started" something with the rag quilts.. next will be to get everyone to emborder lol
