| Is this a good idea or not ?? :) I'm thinking about letting a good tattoo artist tattoo a picture of Fido on my hand, is that a ridiculous idea or do you all think it would look good ? Many people I know say they wouldn't tattoo an animal or a person on him/her unless they were dead , is that right ??

| I would not put a tatoo of an animal on my hand if it were dead or alive. Do you really need one, especially on your hand? Now I am a former Marine and have nothing against tatoo's, but I do not have any even though I almost got one at 18...a Bulldog with a Campaign Hat, and Death before Dishonor under it. I sobered up and did not get it. I guess do whatever makes you feel good. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Tattoos are a personal decision. I don't have any, only because I've seen what happens when people get old and things start sagging That being said, many businesses have strict rules about visible tattoos. If you were to ever switch careers, you might find yourself at a disadvantage. On a side note, I've been told that hand tats hurt like h-e-c-k.

| i'm not a big tatoo girl. if i were to get one though it would be a tiny footprint on my foot to symbolize ALL my babies. i was afraid to single any one baby out since i'll love many throughout my whole life. |

| Ok I have 1 Tattoo before on my hand, a portrait of a red rose, they mean so much for me, what it means to me is that for example roses are really really pretty, but they have sharp thorns you can easily get hurt on, you have to watch out for the ''thorns'' in live and look more on the beautiful and good things in life not just the bad things. I suffer from really bad depression and have massive suicidal thoughts (they come always every evening , but it helps when I look at my tattoo) and more problems. I've gone through many difficult things, the one thing that keeps me alive is the thought of that someday I've stop cutting myself from those thorns and things really start out good and I'll be happy and look more at the beautiful and good things. I'm not some stupid teen that gets a tattoo drunk, I'm a 17 year old teenager that has never touched alcohol and will probably not to it at least not soon, with my rose tattoo I thought it out for at least 3 years, I wont regret it it has so much meaning to me. Fido means really much to me, he has been my dog for a 2 and a half year now. He's saved me from my depression, not completely saved me as I'm still depressed but he has helped me more than words can say ! He's the reason why I'm alive, I could NEVER kill myself knowing that he would be alone without me, he would probably go completely berserk without me ! I am the one who walks him, feeds him, watches out that he doesn't just run out the door when its open and I take care for him always, I buy his food, I groom him and bathe him and watch out he's always clean and healthy. He's so attached to me, when I'm not home he pees all over the place and poops and barks until I come home, if I'm not around and somebody scolds him he growls, sometimes but really he would never bite he just growls thank god but he's a dog that NEVER growls or shows his teeth unless he's really really afraid of something. Fido is just a little thing I love more than anything in the world (well my boyfriend and my brother are also the ones I love more than anything, 3 persons on that list), he's the reason why I wake up in the mornings ! He's the reason why I wont cut my wrists. Ohhhh I look like I'm such a fool, this dog just means so much to me that's why I want him tattooed on me, it would mean much to me.. Since I got him I have exercised much more I walk about 2 hours a day and jog in the evenings (I'm about 10-15 kg. to fat, im trying to loose wheight) , ive lost 2-3 kilos (5 pounds) in the last week or so and I hope I keep loosing wheight! Many people have tattoos of dogs, but most of them tattoo a dead dog on them , why a dead dog? why?

| Getting a tattoo is a persnal choice. i chose to have several . Getting a Portrait of a animal is pretty common. Usually it is done a a larger part of the body becasue their is so much detail and it looks very nice. I have not seen one on the hand .These type of tats will fade a lot easier. Because of frequent handwashing. I have all my fingers tattooed on. THey have tiny paw prints. they have faded but not that bad. You may want to think about a different spot for a tat portrait. People get a tattoo in remmberance of a beloved pet. That does not menta you have to get one of a animal that has passed. It is ok to get one when the dog is alive.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I can only say that the people I know who have had tattoos done to remember a deceased loved one or pet did it because they wanted to always carry a part of that person/pet with them. As I said, I'm not against tats ...I'm just a huge sissy when it comes to needles.

| Donna, I'm not afraid of the pain that comes with getting a tattoo I have one already that took 3 hours, a red rose, it didn't hurt that much , I harm myself with cutting my skin so I'm used to this kind of pain, the pain is just like cutting myself Don't wanna get bad comments about my self-harming I'm trying to get a hold of it its just so hard cause things are going really really bad in my life right now I do it to loose up some anger inside me and get an adrenalin kick, and I'm addicted always when I feel really bad I do it it's so hard to not do it. Its not that bad getting a tattoo. The thing that disturbed me most was the pain after, I couldn't sleep for 3 days ! I had so much cramps in all my hand (where I got my tattoo), the pain spread out from the knuckles to the shoulder. It was probably cause I was so tense, I though the pain would be much more, or he just hit a really bad place ! Nancy, really cool tattoo on that link ! I like it. I would get a portrait of Fido, not sure what picture though I have few really good ones I have to choose one. Rachel&sadie, I agree with you, but I think the first dog is always more special for some reason... Fido is my first dog

| tat's Honey wear'm loud and wear'm proud, a picture of your baby would be awesome, about the size of your palm, in color of course, esp the reds, around the ears, OMG so gorgeous. Take several pictures in, even your baby if your artist will let you, so he/she, can really get the "feel", the personality, and yes a good artist can really do that, get the feel of the person or being. Put it in a place where YOU can see it anytime you want, that way your baby can give you strength anytime you need it. And they do give you strength!!! Yorkies that is Tattoo artists are a different breed of dog!! LOL Most are wonderful people
