| People are desperate for money these days and stealing everything so of course they will steal a pure bred dog. Every one needs to be careful about leaving their yorkies alone in their yard

| I saw that on the news this morning!!! My two are never outside alone, but I worry about someone breaking in the house. My in-laws live right behind us and are home most of the time, so they keep a close watch on things, but I still worry.

| The weekend before Christmas the year I got Tibbe, 2 people got out of the backseat of a car in the alley and started for my back gate, walking fast, looking right at Tibbe who was about mid-yard and barking at them. When I saw what was going on, I stepped from the recesses of the Utility Porch and out onto the back porch and the man and woman ran and got into the car, the driver burning rubber to get away. I KNOW those people were going to steal him and did not notice that the back door was open and that someone was watching. It was cold out and I had stepped back inside in the dark so they could not see me and thought Tibbe was out alone. That car had 4 adults in it and not kids. Always wondered what else they could have had in mind if not dogtheft but they did not stay around to explain, in any event.

| That is so scary! I've already had my car stolen in this neighborhood, and I fear for Kaji too. The car was nicer than what is the norm in this area, and a purebred yorkie is just as special. I sneak Kaji in and out of my area in my KB. No one knows he's here.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've always been afraid of this, it's one of the reasons I got a microchip, I wanted to have undeniable proof that Joey was mine!

| This is my biggest fear. I got my girl microchipped soon after I got her because of that. And always wears her collar with her microchip number and id tags. I am constantly afraid of someone breaking into my house and taking her which is why she comes to work with me. I hate leaving her. One if the people I work with has 3 toy poodles and a chi. He was walking them one morning at his home and watched a car drive by and stop. A woman got out of the car and started for his smallest poodle. He then stepped away from the tree he was standing by and the woman saw him and took off. I couldn't believe it when he told me. There were kids in the car too telling the mom to go get the little dog. And that poor poodle has a health problem if she had taken him he wouldn't survive. I can't believe the nerve of some people! |

| It isn't just pure bred dogs that are stolen. These dog nappers will steal any kind of dog because the owners will post a reward and the dog nappers call the number to say they "found" their dog. It's all about the reward.
