Donating YT 500 Club Member | Fruits and veggies If you can get your little ones to eat fruits and veggies, DO IT! (Grapes and raisins are a no-no though.) We have been homecooking for Ozzie since he was small due to digestive issues. He has always liked apples, broccoli, strawberries, carrots, green beans, peaches, pears. Now that he is geriatric (14+) and ill (lymphoma) having him accustomed to eating fruits and vegetables is a godsend! I had to stop feeding him cottage cheese and pineapple (both bad for lymph health). And I have substituted beets, spinach and watermelon. He eats all of it without hesitation. I think this is due to the fact that he has ALWAYS eaten fruits and vegetables and has never been shy to try new ones. (He basically likes them all except tomatoes.) Talk to your vet about servings based on your Yorkie's size, but definitely try to get them accustomed to fruits and veggies while they're small! |

| That is great advice. Jack eats just about every type of fruit and veggie too. He figures if its good enough for us (people) to eat, it's good enough for him. Of course we do not give him things that can make him ill (grapes, etc.) He has his dry and moist food, but we do give him fruits and veggies for snacks/treats.

YT Addict | My Gizzy loves fruits and vegitables, he loves brocohlli, cherries, necterines, apples, green beans carrots, cabbage, yogert, cheese, pickles. Our favorite night snack is necterines. I peel the skin off and dice them into small cubes so when we snack I eat a piece and he gets a piece

| This is good information for sure! I would like to know what else is on the no-no list. I tried to give Mo a piece of an apple yesterday and he looked at me like "Are you nuts?". Haha-- I had to chuckle at him. Also, I put vanilla yogurt in his Kong and froze it. He loved it, but later threw up. What do you guys put in your baby's kong?

| Callie loves apples, peas, dried bananas and cooked carrots. I'm trying to get her to try a few other things good for her though.

| Kaji likes most fruits and veggies, especially if the skin is peeled off.

| I have not found anything that my boys will NOT eat. Baxter even got into my heirloom tomatoes! As far as the Kong goes, I alternate many things to keep them interested. Plain Greek yogurt with honey and granola mixed is a favorite, organic peanut butter, frozen peaches, and apples all go onto the boys Kongs. |

| Gracie loves fruits and veggies. I am amazed at how many people have commented to me that it's not good for dogs to eat such things. Most people have no idea what dogs should and should not eat or what is actually in the food they are giving to their own dogs. |

Grapes and raisins are the only no-no I ever heard but I heard caution about potatos. (Starches in abundance are bad -- true for people, too!) You need to be careful, too, with citrus-y fruits (oranges, tangerine, lemons, limes, grapefruit) and even with strawberries and blueberries. All have acid content which can erode tooth enamel and sometimes upset tummies! For meats, turkey (white ONLY), chicken and lean ground beef are best options. And brown rice is a great choice. White rice is not optimal. All things in moderation. Those are the guidelines we've always followed. I wouldn't completely change a diet overnight; introduce change gradually and always, always, always talk to your vet! Thanks for all the kind words. Good luck giving your furbabies nature's goodies! | |

| Thanks for the info! Ahi so far loves food period. But she plays with her peas first then eats it and spits the skin out.lol She's ok with green beans but won't eat too much. Loves cooked carrots. I'm giving her apples today.
