| I am sorry this happened to you & your baby. You are very lucky though that it was not much worse then it is. I would deff report this to both the Police & Animal control. Thank God that it was not a child walking their small dog as it could have been deadly for both the child & their pet & next time that could very well be the case. This woman knows the potential her dog has to be a danger to a small animal & was irresponsible to have allowed a situation for her dog to get at anyone or another animal. I am sure that there are cats & other small dogs in your neighborhood & the surrounding neighborhoods & this is very likely to happen again if she's not given a warning by some kind of authority. |

| I am so sorry and I am glad your baby is ok, and you are not too bad off. I am thinking about the rabbit remark, ok maybe true....but the fact that you as a human was holding said rabbit ( ) should have stopes the dog. Also, if that dog doesn't know the difference between a rabbit and another dog.....well that is very questionable...I would report it.. And carry pepper spray or big stick from now on

| Did he just scratch you ? If so I would not make a big deal out of this, maybe the dog was just trying to be friendly and say hello with wagging tail and everything, if his tail was not wagging and the dog maybe showing teeth or growling THEN I would make a big deal out of this. I work in a vet clinic , I get scratches and bruises all the time and I dont make a big deal out of it but if the dog would try to bite or bite me or my dog then I would make a huge deal out of it and make the dogs owner always have him in a strong leash ! are loose dogs allowed where you live or banned?

| I would definitely report to animal control so they can make sure that the dog is up to date on shots// I am a dispatcher so we deal with dog bites all the time// they can get infected real easy |

| I am glad that your pup was not injured, and I am sorry that you were. Lots of good advice here. I would definitely have a doctor look at your wounds. This is one of my biggest fears. I hope you recover quickly and that you are not discouraged from enjoying walks with your little one.

This is from dogbitelaw.com: California permits a person to recover damages for canine-inflicted injuries of all types, based on the doctrine of negligence. The non-bite cases show that neglience can be based on mishandling a dog (Barnett v. La Mesa Post No. 282 (1940) 15 Cal.2d 191 [horse in a parade]), ineffectively controlling or failing to control a dog (Drake v. Dean (1993) 15 Cal.App.4th 915 [leaping dog], putting a dog in a situation that foreseeably can cause injury (Baley v. J.F. Hink & Son (1955) 133 Cal.App.2d 102 [small dog on a leash]), or violating an animal control law (Delfino v. Sloan (1994) 20 Cal.App.4th 1429 [violation of leash law]).
